yes binkyridesagain I tip my hairdresser because she's marvellous and a hairdresser who can cut curly hair is a rare thing and worth every penny. If you're in London I can pass on details.

Binkyridesagain you need to see Matthew James in Birmingham. People come from all over the UK to have him cut their curly hair. I trust mine to no one else.

who tips £20?! my cut and blow dry only costs £25 to start with!

SadSad I want my hair to look like that. I've started to cut my own as I can't find any one that knows how to do it properly, and I am sick of being asked if I want it straightened. WTF is wrong with curly hair!!

I did have a hairdresser that was good, she had curly hair so understood it, but she disappeared and I have not found any one else.

Sadly I'm in the north west and there is no one. I can't afford regular trips to Birmingham. If there is anyone that knows of any one up north that can help my curly locks please tell me.

I never tip. I go every 5 weeks for colour and cut, it's done by a senior colour technician and senior stylist and costs £118. I'm not tipping on top of that.

I tip my hairdresser at Christmas. I get highlights in a naice Central London salon, which costs upwards of £100 and I just can't bring myself to hand over any more cash, no matter how brilliant she is (and she is). I gave her £20 at Christmas which felt like the right thing to do.

No. But they're salaried employees who think they're a bit too cool to make the effort for social niceties so they're doing what they are paid for. End of.

Much the same as taxi drivers. I think I've had one ever who I felt deserved a tip. Getting me from A to B whilst taking the longest route/ grunting rather than talking doesn't get anyone a tip.

I tip waiters and waitresses though and I feel horribly guilty if I don't have enough change (I don't trust doing it via the card machines as it all goes into the company's main account - how do the staff get the tip)

Yes because most of the time thats where they make their money. If you tip one, they dont all allways share tips though
