How could two of the best singers NOT be put through? First Sharon and her stupid decision to let Joe Wheelan go (and put that AWFUL Shelly through instead) and then Louis let Paul - who was one of the best singers ever to grace X Factor's doors - go.

Why the fuck do I watch this shit and get so irate? They don't give a toss about the people who go on there do they?

Arghh!

a lot of them have been kicking about for a while and apparently the xfactor or syco have bands and singers on their books and ask them to audition, it is all a bit fake and phoney tbh that is why I have never voted

I stopped watching it after the 1st series, as soon as it became obvious that it was all about the judges rather than the contestants.
Haven't missed it at all.

Watched it once, years ago. Waste of time.

There is loads of manipulative shit on TV.

I didn't understand the fuss over Steve Brookstein. He was an average singer.

Simon Cowell said that Louis was the real winner as he'd signed G4.

It's obvious they know at least the final 4 because of the celebrity duets, people like Beyoncé aren't available at the drop of a hat but they wouldn't be able to put her with just anyone, their voices would have to go together so they must know who will be doing the duets.

MrsJay, he was brilliant wasn't he? Don't think he will even get a wildcard cos he went out at bootcamp.

It's obvious that mixed race girl in the Girls who beat another girl up really viciously when she was on crack is going to win.

It's funny that Simon Cowell passed on signing Take That. He made some comment about how they should get rid of the fat one (Gary Barlow) Grin

I stopped watching it last year. Very happy to be free of the guilt and free of being so manipulated by the editing and production. If you are feeling something when watching it - whatever that emotion- that is the intended outcome by the producers. The only outcomes they really care about are: amount of votes, and amount of records sold by any of the contestants. They care about nothing else and if you believe then do you are mistaken.

Who got through out of the boys? I caught some of the repeat earlier but didn't see the final decision.

Mrs I think they care about viewing figures as the higher the ratings the more money they can get for the adverts I assume. Of course I may be wrong.

I take it British Airways paid something towards it then. It was like an advert on one bit earlier.

That boy band are definately the most obvious ringers I have ever seen on X Factor. I dont remember hearing their story about how they got together and how they knew each other.

Why am I sat watching it? Well MNing with it on in the background, but still.

Any why was Sinitta on last night?

Mojavewonderer, was Paul the one with the 'soul' type voice & dark hair? Did he not get through?

I don't feel manipulated by it at all, but then again I just enjoy watching it and don't vote.

I threw the TV away because of the X Factor. It's exploitative shit.

I work in the entertainment industry, every now and again we get an email from the production team of the X Factor trying to recruit more victims.

I REALLY enjoy replying to them.

The worst bit was when an oiled up Sinitta appeared in a white bikini. My eyes!

I kind of wanted the wee Scottish boy to get through as he has a sweet voice but I was sure Paul would get through as he was so good.

The whole prog is a crock of shit, so manipulative, and assumes that the viewing audience is really stupid. Do they really think we believe that the acts don't tell their families if they have got through or not till they arrive home and the cameras are at their house?

Yet still I watch it Confused I do think it is hilarious when Dermy cuddles them all. He kissed one of the girls who didn't get through on the head tonight! Shock

Why did Louis get rid of that guy who sang Last Request, I thought he was really good.
I'd rather have him in it than that wee Scottish lad, is it Nicholas hes called?

I happened to wander through the room when DCs were watching "the overs" and "the boyz." Stopped to watch for a bit and SO wish I hadn't.

When the hell did we turn into such a nation of wimps? All that crying, snot, sob stories. I knew it was like that, and haven't watched it for years, but surely it's got worse? Whatever happened to the British stiff upper lip?

I honestly think he was better thannicholas I am not sure why he put him through clam they have always sobbed just it seems to be taken to a new level , that guy in the overs holding his son up like simba was the last straw they have no sob stories so they say they have children and rubbish jobs

Report
ConfusedPixie · 07/10/2013 09:11

I watched that as DPs Mum was watching it. It's for the drama. They put through the rubbish ones purely so that there is the drama at the last moment between the two better singers and everybody is on the edge of their seats waiting.

It's the first time I've seen it in years though and it seemed so stereotypical as well which annoyed me, very predictable who would sing what kind of music based on how they looked, is that their choice in music or what the producers told them to sing?

I caught some of the Saturday show where Paul and the guitar playing boy who had quit his job didn't get through. I am still upset by it. What kind of advice and support are these young kids given and why was he not strongly discouraged from resigning his job? And sending contestants back to Judges house for the second year in a row knowing damn well they won't be chosen. They are screwing w/ peoples mental health here.

It really upset me and I won't have this show on in my house again.
