To be majorly pissed off that my new boss questioned my professionalism to my junior colleague

She has plenty of form for erratic / questionable behaviour, so I was expecting something to happen eventually, but it has still made me mad. I'm in training, and rotating through the post, and I came back from a day of annual leave to hear that she spent most of the previous day bitching about me to, not only this junior team member, but also other members of the multi-disciplinary team.

Basically, that I am not showing enough enthusiasm for the work they do in this place, that I'm not invested in the attachment, and that I'm not doing things 'their way'. I disagree with all these claims by the way! I would have no problem with her saying these things to my face, she is my trainer and supervisor, so we have regular performance reviews anyway, but AIBU to think that it is completely inappropriate and undermining to be talked of in this way to all and sundry? GAH Angry!!

Yes completely inappropriate. Can you speak to your HR department?

Yes, agree it's totally inappropriate for her to behave in this way. However... have you reflected on it? Is the criticism in any way justified? Are you failing to pick up on feedback you have given her? If so then she might be feeling frustrated and think that this is the only way to get through to you. Either way she's out of order but it might be worth thinking about how you can resolve this to everyone's satisfaction.

I don't think she is that calculating / logical lessons! Her criticisms stemmed from two things: I referred accidentally to a project as 'x's' project (x is doing a PhD so I thought it was reasonable terminology) when she perceives the project as hers; and I dealt with a situation slightly differently to how they do it here, but it line with general best practice and how it is done everywhere else I have worked. Note, I didn't know they did it differently here, and would of course have taken it on board if I had been told! Sorry to drip feed but was so mad last night over it! So where should I go from here?
