When (if) my dh makes a cuppa he occasionally puts the milk in while the tea bag is still in the cup.

He claims there is no difference but I know I can taste a difference and it is dirty and wrong!

I think the bag and the milk should never meet.

In cup bag water squeeze remove add bit of milk.

In pot. Bags and water in pot brew for few mins bit of milk in cup ready or tiny bit in cup after tea poured.

Aibu?

YABU. What scholes said: if the water's hard, the tea bag takes the scummy stuff away once you've added the milk. Strange but true.

YANBU!

I hate my tea any other way! Teabag and sugar in cup, boiling water, squeeze all tea possible out of bag, add milk, remove bag Grin

noooo, don't squeeze the teabag, it totally alters the taste of the tea, just let it brew properly (about 3 mins). And it should be made not with boiling water, but about 90 degrees (so about a minute after the kettle has boiled).

I drink mine black but I would add milk last. I do dump sugar in whenever but if you're going to make your tea taste vile by adding the stuff that's your look out!

I'm so not a tea connoisseur Grin I even think the decaf stuff tastes the same as the regular stuff!
