I know it's a bit naff, but it still gets a laugh from me every time. It's brilliant.

They give me the creeps !I mean I properly nearly crashed cos I literally pulled away the first time I've saw them and took the car with me Shock

manticlimactic · 03/10/2013 23:41

There's a car round here that is furry! Red fur all over it.

I've seen the bollocks too. You can get them here :

bumper bollocks

WMittens · 04/10/2013 08:31

it is powered by petrol, like everybody else's car

There's an obvious pedantic response to that that I'm trying to resist making.

BeScarefulWhatYouWitchFor · 04/10/2013 08:36

The cars with eyelashes make me Grin too.

NorbertDentressangle · 04/10/2013 08:39

You can buy the eyelashes in Poundland - DD has bought some to secretly put on DP's van Grin.

We're just waiting for the right moment to strike!

Strongecoffeeismydrug · 04/10/2013 08:42

They make me smileGrin but grumpy old other half says they look tacky and would rather walk than get in a car with eyelashes,England flags, antlers or a red nose stuck on the front Grin.
Grumpy bugger I tell thee

TheWomanTheyCallJayne · 04/10/2013 08:46

Is fairy dust a fossil fuel?

mrsjay · 04/10/2013 09:04

I love them they are great and silly and just fun I have seen Christmas antlers that made my day when i saw it Grin

Pobblewhohasnotoes · 04/10/2013 09:25

They are awful. It's as bad as naming your car.

AKAK81 · 04/10/2013 10:37

Eyelashes and "powered by fairydust" stickers are great. They serve as a warning to all other road users that the car is likely to be driven rather badly. You might as well have a sticker in foot high lettering "I'm a shit driver"

Sandancer · 04/10/2013 10:39

The best car sticker I've seen was on an old Citreon ax - "I survived the scrappage scheme"

Weeantwee · 04/10/2013 10:55

Cars with eyelashes always make me smile, though yes, they are a bit naff. There's a set of traffic lights near me that have eyelashes on too.

Gruntfuttock · 04/10/2013 11:03

mrsjay "I love them they are great and silly and just fun"

Exactly. That's just what I think. Someone upthread said that they give her the creeps. I can't understand that at all.

quoteunquote · 04/10/2013 12:16

Go out for a walk, and have a look in the hedgerows, they come off the cars and end up in the verges, and hedgerows, loads of the fucking things, that and the other car decoration crap, football flags, red noses, we pick up loads of them, along with the fast food litter they chuck out.

I hate that people really don't give a shit about where their plastic crap ends up, great big nobby twonks the lot of them.

Bunbaker · 04/10/2013 17:49

"It's as bad as naming your car."

Yes and calling it a she. A car is an inanimate object and is an it. I don't get some people's obsession with anthropomorphism of inanimate objects.

pixiepotter · 04/10/2013 18:53

I think they are a bit creepy. They spookme!

pixiepotter · 04/10/2013 18:54

But ships are called 'she' aren't they, and countries

Shaky · 04/10/2013 22:05

WMittens thank you for resisting Grin

IceCreamForCrow · 04/10/2013 22:11

They are ridiculous and not in a funny way. 'Toys' and gonks and crap for cars is weird.

Guineapigfriend · 04/10/2013 22:44

YAMVU I hate eyelashes on cars they make me feel weird inside

propertyNIGHTmareBEFOREXMAS · 04/10/2013 23:25

I find the eyelashes really distracting.

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 04/10/2013 23:34

Eyelashes/powered by fairy dust/fluffy pink car accessories are all equal in twitchy naffness I'm sorry to say.

Having said that, I have two very good friends whom I love dearly who love that kind of thing. I will never ever understand it or their love for inspirational poems on fridge magnets, or pictures of kittens and puppies but I guess it's all relatively harmless.

Hulababy · 04/10/2013 23:45

I have a teeny little car with a name, dd named my car. No eye lashes but it is the type if car that you would see eye lashes on. DH would probably disown the car entirely if I did though.

mrsjay · 05/10/2013 09:17

My dds last car had an old lady name she is thinking of a name for her new one its no big deal is it there is nothing wrong with pink fluffiness if that is what women like dd2 saw a pink car the other day and almost died Grin
