...to think this woman will say anything for money?

Alex Peek - we have a new contender for most annoying female Daily Mail writer. A few weeks ago she was gleefully telling us how she has a full time nanny but doesn't work, now it's her despair at her third pregnancy.

AIBU to think this woman will say anything to earn a quick buck?

Day 1 for not looking at mailonline.
I feel cleaner already.

saulaboutme · 02/10/2013 10:54

Another "boo hoo, woh is me" story. What was the point of her sharing this? It's very attention seeking and boastful " I have a big house, loving DH, 2 gorgeous dcs, money! Now a little baby is going to ruin all that"
Ok unplanned 3rd baby? Get it, but come on...

Sopster · 02/10/2013 19:05

Wow! Went to school with her. How differently we've turned out! I run my own business from home and my house currently looks like a 70's disco from the amount of glitter all over the kitchen from doing craft with the kids (don't normally get the glitter out on a Wednesday afternoon to be fair!!)!

Milkhell · 02/10/2013 19:10

The Bugaboo line infuriated me too. I have an (ex) friend who upon telling her I was pregnant asked if I was getting the Bugaboo Donkey in the next breath.

Milkhell · 02/10/2013 19:13

I have to say though...if I was pregnant now I'd really feel quite suicidal and that's not an exaggeration. It's just a shame she had used her feelings to promote herself as a writer. I'm a writer and would never, ever use this kind of sensitive information to further my career. I do use a lot if personal bits but nothing that would hurt an unborn DC for crying out loud!

Milkhell · 02/10/2013 19:14

Ha! Fantastic writing there - sorry for typos. On iPhone and have fat fingers.

MissStrawberry · 02/10/2013 19:14

"second-rate private school" pissed me off.

Lilyloo · 02/10/2013 19:17

Being controversial to get a piece in the paper , poor kid lets hope it doesn't google and find this.

OhDearNigel · 02/10/2013 19:17

I entirely sympathise with her. I would have a fit of the screaming fucking abdabs if i was pregnant.

You know what the problem is ? Mothers are apparently not allowed to voice a wish to not have any more kids because we simply don't want any more. As a staunch one-baby-woman i get this all the time, people just cant seem to get their heads round the concept. And she has gone to the most hated paper in the country and said "i don't want any more kids" with no justification more than "i just don't want them". What i do think is sad is that posters on here, who supposedly champions women and their right to chose STILL secretly seem to judge women as selfish if they are horrified at having another baby.

Milkhell · 02/10/2013 19:20

I think she thinks if she's as honest as possible it will endear readers akin to KH. However where KH (very, very occasionally) has me stifling a chuckle this woman's world view is materialistic and queer and I don't think many will relate, even in their darkest depths.

mynameismskane · 02/10/2013 19:20

Ohdearnigel, really? Can't you see that it's not the fact she doesn't want another child that grates, that's not the issue. It's her smug, smarmy attitude and the stupid things she writes. She obviously thinks she is god's gift too, although who knows why!

If you don't want another baby you don't drag your husband upstairs and have unprotected sex. Confused

LadyBigtoes · 02/10/2013 19:22

Omg I swear they have a checklist where they tick off all the most Mner-baiting things that each article must include :o

Fgs if it was that important not to have a baby she wouldnt have had (obviously pre-planned, she says so) unprotected sex.

I just CBA to take issue with all the other bollocks but yes, aside from everything else she's massively selfish to publish his and not think of her child's feelings when they find out.

TheRobberBride · 02/10/2013 19:24

I read this article. So the woman really really doesn't want another baby and yet has unprotected sex? She honestly didn't think pregnancy was a possibility?

If most people don't want any more children then they do the grown up thing and sort out contraception.

I have no sympathy for her.

spanky2 · 02/10/2013 19:24

Put a dvd on and have sex upstairs ? I would be too worried my dcs would get bored and wander in!

Milkhell · 02/10/2013 19:26

I would not enjoy sex with DCs watching a DVD downstairs...

gobbynorthernbird · 02/10/2013 19:28

Aside from another stupid woman airing her dirty laundry in public, the important issue would be does the heil still put everybody in those godawful 'nude' heels?

LadyBigtoes · 02/10/2013 19:29

X-posted brook!

Nigel that's not the issue in her piece at all though. It's not about the right to not want another child. Which is a valid Ing to discuss and often is, on here, in papers etc.

What's annoying is that she is spouting such outrageous drivel. She is obviously not in a position where a third child would impoverish her. If she needs extra days, why, she can write crap like this for the dm in what, 20 mins a week. Her dh always ponced off to the golf course at weekends and she never insisted on him taking part in family life, just did some PA sulking - but now it's ok because they are 2 and 3? Hmm

I don't even believe her sex story. What 2and 3 yo would leave you alone for long enough for a shag just because you put fireman Sam on? Tish and pish.

Aargh they sucked me in the bastards!

LadyBigtoes · 02/10/2013 19:31

Ing? = thing
Days = cash

Fecking iPad

Diamondcassis · 02/10/2013 19:38

Her feet look v sore. She should put them up & "take a chill pill" (as my DD tells me).

Milkhell · 02/10/2013 19:43

I'd feel that sense of horror as have had mental health issues (anxiety and depression) since having DCs. That doesn't sound as glam though does it?

maddening · 02/10/2013 19:45

What I don't get is how women like this suddenly become "of interest" and are writing in newspapers? Like the sam brick one - I just don't get it?

EastwickWitch · 02/10/2013 19:46

I've got that frock, Coast last christmas Blush

Milkhell · 02/10/2013 19:49

Because they're prepared to sell themselves out to make a quick buck and the DM are happy to oblige. It's called selling your soul.
