Lack of socks, that themselves are wearing no socks Hmm

What is it with people. Literally everywhere we go we are getting comments about his bare feet and that he'll get cold.

Then I see they are only wearing sandals themselves!!

DD1 took her socks off and chewed them to ensure they couldn't be put on. I gave up and stuck a foot muff on the pushchair so people couldn't see and tut at her bare toes.

I think the difference is that an adult will know when their feet are cold, and will know how to remedy the situation, and can just go and get themselves a pair of socks.

Adults are usually on the move, so their blood is flowing throughout their bodies, warming it up as it goes. A baby is sitting still.

And you are right, it is not that cold at the moment. Wait until an icy gale is blowing...

Maybe, babies can't do much if they are too cold, but they can certainly scream if they are too hot!

You didn't take DD1 into a warm shop in a snow suit more than once.

I was just looking at some photos of DS2 taken one December at the Lakes on a boat, he's aged 9 months, fleece, hat, gloves and no socks. He used to pull them off and throw them. That pair ended up in the lake.

I recall one person loudly informing me in the street that he should be wearing socks. I know that but DS2 didn't agree.

He's grown up to be a very delightful and very stubborn little boy. And still removes socks at any opportunity.
