I'm sooooo tired. Had a crazy week. All the housework is done. I just want a relaxed day with DH and DS (4 months). Is that really lazy?

No! I have days like this and think they're wonderful. Sometimes it's nice to just spend all day at home doing nothing, especially when you've had a busy week.

jimijack · 28/09/2013 09:11

Yes it is, you lazy arse! Get dressed!!

I'm just well jell and for some reason always feel soooo guilty if I stay in my pj"s, don't know why, it's bonkers.

I've been up most of the night with my baby, my ds& dh have gone out for the day and so me & babaloo could slob today. Got housework to do though so gonna get scruffs on & get stuck in.

Enjoy your day, run a lovely bath then get lush clean jarmies on xx

shewhowines · 28/09/2013 09:13

My mum used to do that when I was a kid/ teenager. She used to walk round with her trousers unzipped too. I always get dressed fairly soon after getting up. I can't shake the feeling that it's slobby. I hated my mum doing it as a teenager.

But your dc is only 4 months...

Snatchoo · 28/09/2013 09:18

No.

I truly love pajama days!

sewingandcakes · 28/09/2013 09:19

YANBU, enjoy yourself and don't feel guilty; you've earned it!

Tee2072 · 28/09/2013 09:20

Although I am planning to do some stuff, I am planning on doing it in my PJs.

livinginwonderland · 28/09/2013 09:38

YANBU!

I'm in my pajamas but I have been productive, does that make it better?! DP got up at 5am for work and I couldn't get back to sleep so I've done the dishes, cleaned up our room, made the bed and now I'm eating mini cheddars under the duvet and mumsnetting/watching Fawlty Towers.

Squitten · 28/09/2013 09:39

If you're not planning on going out, why would you dirty more clothes? That's just more laundry!

Mummybookworm · 28/09/2013 09:44

Envy at "all the housework is done". There's a stealth boast if ever I saw one!!! Enjoy OP. I wish I could stay in my dressing gown all day. V envious!

elcranko · 28/09/2013 10:34

Definitely have a PJ day. Enjoy! Smile

Whereisegg · 28/09/2013 10:38

What you need is new pjs.
Every so often I buy my self a pair of lovely pj bottoms and a vest top.
Then when I'm up, have a lovely shower, moisturise etc and out on lovely crisp pjs.

Just feels less naughty than old pjs somehow...

MegaClutterSlut · 28/09/2013 10:39

YANBU if I know I'm not going out I will stay in my pj's Grin

littlewhitebag · 28/09/2013 10:41

I can't understand why people like being in their dressing gown all day. By 10 am i start to feel like a hot, smelly mess.

What i think is nice is a long bath or shower then change into comfy joggers, t shirt and hoody plus nice fluffy socks.

Bliss.

KatieScarlett2833 · 28/09/2013 10:43

I sleep nekkid so putting on pjs or a dressing gown IS getting dressed to me.

Lazysuzanne · 28/09/2013 11:00

I only ever wear sloppy floppy clothes at home, get changed into normal clothes to go out then straight back to the sloppy floppies when I get home
(I do live alone though...p'raps that's why! )

Thants · 28/09/2013 14:52

What would be unreasonable about that. People who feel guilty for doing that, why?

Bluegem7 · 04/06/2025 15:49

My neighbour doesn't work even though she's only 50. She spends all day in her thick shabby dressing gown even in the summer. It's a shame as she wants me to go round and have a cuppa but I find it off-putting when she's in a grubby old dressing gown. She doesn't seem depressed and her house is spotless. She has a teenage son and I think it isn't very nice for him. I'm twenty years older than her but I'm up showered and dressed by 8am. I invite her round to me when I've time (I still work) thinking it would give her something to get dressed for but she seems to think it's ok to pop round in her dressing gown. 😞

You really don't know what is going on in her mind. Just because she doesn't seem depressed, doesn't mean she isn't.

Bluegem7 · 04/06/2025 16:06

I know you could be right. I suffer anxiety and depression but I know I'd feel a lot worse if I didn't have my work and a reason to get showered and dressed. I have tried talking to her about my own life in the hope she may open up.

Might be a vicious cycle, where she's down and doesn't want to get dressed and not being dressed and ready to go is making her more down. I sometimes spend all day in my pyjamas if I'm not going anywhere but fact she's doing it every day..? Hope you're getting treatment for your A&D x
