To worry about my tooth?

I had a filling yesterday, when I had my last check up I mentioned some sensitivity and an x-ray revealed a cavity. Today while I was drinking I realised that the tooth is still sensitive, I think it might even be worse than before. Is that because the filling was only yesterday and it needs time to settle down (my gum in particular has sore spots where the injection went in), or is it possible it hasn't been filled properly?

Not sure how the OP is being unreasonable? ?

You have only just had it done OP it will be sensitive until it settles im sure.

Thank you. It's the first time I've had a filling, so not sure what's normal and what's not.

Totally normal for it to be more painful today

Depends on what type of filling, I mean if its a root canal I would expect it to be a little sore, but then I've had fillings which have felt fine about half hour after the appointment. If in doubt, check with your dentist.

It might settle down. It might not. If not then get back to the dentist. Give them a call first.

Is it a white filling? They can take a while to settle.

If it doesn't gradually improve or gets worse call the dentist

Sounds normal to.me. I would check in with.your.dentist.if.it.is still sore in a couple of.days. n
