.. to think that a 40-minute wait for food at GBK is unacceptable?

... lunch today with dc at Gourmet Burger Kitchen. Had to wait 10 minutes just to order our food at the bar, then after I'd ordered and paid we were told it was a 40-minute wait for food to come out of the kitchen. I think they should have mentioned this when they showed us to our table, then we could have chosen to go somewhere else.

And they'd run out of onion rings, so the only 'nibbles' available to bridge the gap were the monkey nuts, which the dc won't eat. By 2.15 on Sunday, ffs...

It is overpriced and horrid.

Giraffe do much nicer burgers for less money and serve you quickly.

We often end up in Giraffe at Heathrow airport, and it's usually crap. I wanted to go there today because I like the menu but dc refused!!

If you're in Bristol, go to the Burger Joint on Whiteladies Road instead! WAY better than GBK, the staff there will seemingly do anything they can to make you happier/more comfortable, we've only ever had wonderful times there (when visiting family nearby)

Manchester GBK is always dead - we've started having our pram-meets there as theres always loads of room and the wait staff are bored so happy to coo and super serve!

Yanbu. This is why we always end up at wagamama's because I'm a greedy pig who can't wait for more than 10 mins for food.

However, the veggie burger I had on my only visit to GBK was one of the best veggie burgers I've ever had.

God I hate Giraffe, I went to the one in Cabot and hated it.

Frankie and bennies is also terrible apart from their 5 quid breakfast with unlimited macchiato.

That is far too long to wait though. I would have been really pissed off.

Yanbu 40 minutes is shocking time to wait.

I think we must be lucky with our Giraffe then because it is great for a quick lunch with the children, and nice to be able to feed them something other than chips and nuggety shite when we're out.
