My mother despairs.

They are clean pjs today, I've had a bath and put fresh ones on.

SIL is on her way round and I can hear my mother in my head telling me I shoudl be dressed for company. I don;'t want to. I did tell SIL I wasn't getting dressed today and she was fine.

I just feel very strongly that Sundays are for pjs.

AIBU?

Yanbu. I am dressed. Its shit. I stay in pjs on cold rainy sundays. Wish it was raining.

ll31 · 22/09/2013 13:41

Yanbu, she's family, no problem!

Nancy66 · 22/09/2013 13:42

I like PJ days but I think I would get dressed if guests came over - even family.

how hard is it to put a pair of jeans and sweatshirt on ?

MoveYourArmsLikeHenry · 22/09/2013 13:43

Stay in your pjs. Sunday isn't called "the day of rest" for nothing Grin

Sirzy · 22/09/2013 13:43

I agree with nancy I would put some clothes on.

Jellybeanz1 · 22/09/2013 13:44

I've even taken comfy pjs when close friends hang out like that and Im staying over.

Jellybeanz1 · 22/09/2013 13:46

I wouldn't go to the shops like it though. Grin

MalcolmTuckersMistress · 22/09/2013 13:46

Aaah you see, this is quite possibly the only actual example of where a onesie is socially acceptable,

Famzilla · 22/09/2013 13:47

YANBU. I'm in my Star Wars pjs, PIL's are due round soon ( haven't seen them in months after a fall out so really should be making an effort). Don't plan on changing.

In all fairness though I did only get out of hospital at 6am, it's practically still bedtime as far as I'm concerned. I hope they bring cake.

Jellybeanz1 · 22/09/2013 13:48

Yes Malcoms mistress aslong as its not animal related.

I actually have a sweatshirt on. And some tartan cotton pj bottoms.

I don';t really see why jeans woudl be any better. They'd just be less comfy.

YABU. You should get dressed if anyone is coming round, its basic manners.Track suit bottoms and a big jumper will achieve the same warm and comfy goal if that's what you care about.

Jellybeanz1 · 22/09/2013 13:49

whoops too much Wine

JessePinkmansBitch · 22/09/2013 13:50

Crikey I live in my PJ's, I only get dressed when I'm leaving the house!

WorldPeaceAndFreeProsecco · 22/09/2013 13:52

me too Jesse.

I get in from work at 6pm, straight into pjs. I do tend to get dressed on a Saturday but often not until lunchtime.

Weekends are for chilling. It's much easier to chill in your pjs.

YABU. Get dressed at once. Grin

mewmeow · 22/09/2013 13:58

Haha at the people saying get dressed for company! Sunday pjs all the way- clothes are for outside and the rest of the week Wink

MollyBerry · 22/09/2013 14:03

I think that's fine! I do get dressed but into tracksuit

Bumpiemalumpie · 22/09/2013 14:07

I am reassured by this thread. My mum told me that when I become a parent (hopefully in February), my days of rest and PJ days will be over!!! When I was a weekend nanny, we had PJ days on a Sunday and I only got dressed when I was leaving in the evening to go home as I was worried about what a policeman would say if I was pulled over!!

I love PJ days, even if I achieve a lot, at least I am comfy!!

Chusband · 22/09/2013 14:09

Nothing wrong with PJs at home. But we're talking about when someone is coming round, which is different. To me, anyway!

chocoluvva · 22/09/2013 14:14

If I was visiting I'd think you were trying to make me feel that I was encroaching on your valuable down time. It's not welcoming. IYSWIM.

EvaBeaversProtege · 22/09/2013 14:56

I'm in leggings & a baggy tshirt with a fleece on.

We generally don't have visitors but dd stayed at a friend's house last night & her mum is dropping dd home, I didn't want to meet her in my pjs!

If I knew In advance visitors were arriving I'd definitely get dressed.

crypes · 22/09/2013 15:03

My DD told me that a little girl in the local park wears her pyjamas and dressing gown up there every evening after her tea. So beat that I say. Oh and slippers on aswel.
