With a little bit of butter and black pepper, I love it Smile

VVVVU :)
Sweetcorn is gross.

Not really-well I hate it but eat whatever the hell you want :)
DP loves it and the dog often gets the leftovers. I love picking up after her when she has yellow bobbly bits in her crap. Lol

KvassInTheNight · 22/09/2013 21:33

I'm making sweetcorn fritters tomorrow! Thanks for that idea!

ThisWayForCrazy · 22/09/2013 21:36

I just eat it out the tin Shock

BlackholesAndRevelations · 22/09/2013 21:39

My ds eats sweetcorn at nursery (won't touch it at home) and I actually wish he wouldn't... The nappies are beyond vile. Envy

BatwingsAndButterflies · 22/09/2013 21:47

I've given up sweetcorn as low-carbing but I love it.Especially tinned and baby sweetcorn.

YABVU

It comes out the same way it goes in!

GwendolineMaryLacey · 23/09/2013 16:19

Batter like pancake batter?

Oswin · 23/09/2013 16:56

Oooh the magic corn stalls? Delicious, my favourite flavours cheese or curry.

Yes, Gwen. Just a bit thicker so it coats and sticks to the kernels.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 23/09/2013 18:07

Oh yum! Whatever we're having for dinner tomorrow it's going to contain sweetcorn fritters :)

ExasperatedSigh · 23/09/2013 18:09

YANBU. Sweetcorn is great.

wheredidiputit · 23/09/2013 18:48

GwedolineMaryLacey

I make these ones with grilled bacon and tomatoes.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 23/09/2013 19:30

Oh they look soooooo good.

2kidsintow · 23/09/2013 21:06

That's them. :)

I came across them first as a child as part of a dish called 'Chicken Maryland' which was IIRC, Fried breaded chicken, sweetcorn fritter, banana fritter (urgh) and chips.

Really unhealthy. But the sweetcorn fritters were memorable.

EstoyAqui · 23/09/2013 21:17

Those look amazing. I'm making them to break my 5:2 fast tomorrow. Thanks for sharing.

YoniBottsBumgina · 23/09/2013 21:19

Birmingham has sweetcorn stalls! There's one in New Street station.

TheFillyjonk · 23/09/2013 21:25

Uuurgh. I'm another sweet corn hater. I live in a West London where sweetcorn stalls are rife, and the smell makes me heave.

But if you're craving it, OP, eat it!

Paintingrainbowskies · 23/09/2013 21:28

YANBU, lovely!

It's the dd's fab food (22 month old), loves it.

Justonemorebiteplease · 23/09/2013 22:22

Thanks all, suffice to say I have eaten it and it was delicious, I will make some fritters at the weekend, however, on a more serious note after all that veg I'm now eating maltesers, I think that's one chocolate that hasn't changed in taste (yet!)

Home grown sweetcorn is the absolute best thing in the world if you have space to grow it. Pick it, boil for five minutes and serve with butter.
