Good grief, I would really find toe post sandals really handy day to day especially in summer.

Thing is I cant stand the feel of a toe posts.

So I thought damn cheap flip flops and bought some Birkenstocks.

I cant stand them either Sad

Anyone else cant stand the feel of toe posts?

If you need to break your feet in or they make you bleed then they're crap ones. The one type I can wear have never done this to me. They've been comfortable from day one and I live in them

I nearly wore out a pair of fitflops this summer.

The first 3 days were agony but after that they have been the most comfortable shoes I've ever had. I'm converted.

I hate them too. This is the only style of sandal I wear, it needs to go round the back or I feel like it is going to fall off my feet.

I always look around the shops at hundreds of lovely flip flops in summer and wish they made some without posts.
I used to get fabric ones without posts from an Indian market stall but they are no longer there.

Now, see, I love them!! BUT I do have to brace myself every spring and spend a week limping around whilst I get used to the toe post. But once I have conditioned myself (as it were) I love them and don't wear anytihng else in the summer.

Oh thank goodness there are people who think like me! Toe post shoes make me nauseous to even look at. This is a BIG problem for me living in Australia where every bugger wears them, year round, though they call them thongs. Aaaaagghhhhh!

YANBU, I really don't see how anyone can wear them.

Just the thought of them now is making me wince.

I live in Birkenstock Madrids for half the year and boots for the other half.

You need to put the work in! Haha. Every summer I suffer a couple of uncomfortable days then it is fine. I use the blister stick and all is fine

I love my toe post sandals, but every year, without fail I get haviana blisters - agony. You have to perservere, the skin gets used to it after a couple of days.

Nope. No evolution here. I will believe I am directly descended from Eve and God made the world in 7 days if I don't have to wear a toe post while I'm doing it.

Flip flops made by crocs. Brilliant! I wear them all year round (and I live in Scotland!) i need about 5 inches of snow to take my flips off!

Are toe posts different to flip flops then? Good flip flops are fab.

Right - listen.

We have evolved to wear toe posts - otherwise we would have webbed feet.

Get used to them Grin

No, OP, toe post shoes are not the work of the devil.

Secondhand toe post shoes on ebay are!

Anything between the toes is wrong. Fuck the fuck off with your jaunty separate toed socks, or your fugly barefoot yoga shoes.

And scrunching to keep flip flops on gives you bunions.

I live in Teva flip flops in the summer. So comfy and can bike/climb/run in them. I have really shallow narrow feet so the strap that just goes across like on some birkenstocks doesn't touch my foot at all.

If you were going to design a comfortable, good-looking summer shoe, why would you invent one where you have to scrunch up your feet to stop it falling off, and with an uncomfortable stick as the only thing to keep them semi-on?

We need a MN campaign, for pretty sandals without the toepostofboak.

THIS.

I have been struggling to find a comfy pair of flip flops without this hideous invention for a few years now.

I was exactly the same until I discovered Animal brand flipflops a few years ago, the toepost on some ranges is made of soft spongy stuff, and the flipflops have arch supports - they are amazing! But I'm very worried they're discontinued. Sad These are an example but these are the children's version, but they do go up to a 6.

Love my Birkenstocks. I have lived in them this summer. I'm glad I don't have 'sensitive toes'.

I also find that I make farty foot noises when wearing my birkenstocks. So I think I'm just going to have to give up! Grin

I can't bear the feel of the toe posts either!
