To wear this coat at 29

I had a moment of madness and bought a pauls boutique coat, similar to this one:
www.handbagfairy.co.uk/blog/fashion/bank-fashion/attachment/pauls-boutique-quilted-biker-jacket-75/

I am now thinking that I am too old to be wearing this and might come across as mutton dressed as lamb/ chavvy, but at the same time I think I should stuff what other people think and just wear it. Can somebody of 29 get away with wearing a pauls boutique jacket?
Would I be ridiculous to wear it?
should I just stick it on ebay?
I can't return it and get a refund as it was in the sale and they said refunds will only be allowed on faulty goods.

Barbour and Jack Wills are what the teenagers where i live wear.

Good news - I put the jacket for sale on facebook (hoping not to have to pay any ebay fees) and my neice instantly said she will have it for £30. She's 17 and at college so hopefully it will be more appropriate for her.

dd used to wear PB in year 6/7. She is in year 9 now and it is considered naff (or whatever the correct term is these days!) I really really wouldn't.

Some of their bags are nice - pippa middleton was papped with a PB bag the other day!

Chopstheduck · 18/09/2013 13:34

ooh that's handy!

TroublesomeEx · 18/09/2013 13:39

I wouldn't wear it, but that's because it's a horrible coat, not because you're too old for it.

I'm 39 and I refuse to think I'm "too old" for anything. I'm respectable and all that but my age doesn't determine anything other than how many years left until retirement.

1)29 is so young the only things you're too old for is nappies.
2) You should be able to wear what you WANT, the beauty of a free country.

It isn't my style but I think It's cute. I'm older than you and still wear miniskirts, skinny jeans, cropped jackets, cropped tops-I think age is only one factor in clothing anyway, other things matter as well.

Thanks festered
Everything that you just wrote is what my husband said when I was in the shop contemplating buying the jacket. However, I had my doubts about it and whether it was more suitable for a 17 year old. im very surprised that people have said their year 5 and 6 girls have them (but that's probably because I personally wouldn't spend that much on a jacket for a primary aged child, because I'm a tight wad).
Anyway, my neice is going to have it and I will put the money towards a warmer winter coat that wont have the school gate mums sniggering behind my back.
I really do need to learn to not care about what others think.
