To speak to the school?

1002 replies

Orchwoid · 17/09/2013 17:47

I've just been to collect my son from his school and he's told me that he won't be cast in his school Christmas play but all the other children will.

I am fumming. I am going to go and speak to his teacher first thing tomorrow morning but I am so angry that I can't work out whether I'm being reasonable or not.

With all this fairytale character talk, any bets how long it is before this thread goes poof! Grin
I'm placing my bet on 6.57pm.

cjel - a 'CofE school' is 100% state funded. The church pays 10% of capital projects IIRC.

Must be a wind up..

Although I do kinda want it to be real. I think you would have to be going some to make up stupidity on this lvl!

Orchwoid · 18/09/2013 18:50

I am real. I would tell you the name of my sons school but I think then people will know who I am. Only Louise who comes here knows who I am not on the internet/

CatAmongThePigeons · 18/09/2013 19:10

Oi, Louise, put us out of our misery. You know you want to!

birdybear · 18/09/2013 19:21

Orchwoid, i am loving your spelling and interesting grammatical errors. Exactly what part do you think would be appropriate for your son in a religious play when you hate religion? I would imagine you would fumm over all the parts.

( Is Orchwoid your attempt at spelling awkward as that is what you obviously are? )

filimou · 18/09/2013 19:24

This has been entertaining me all day. I love it.
Maybe your DS could just be a curtain puller or something...Also I'm sure describing Atheism as your religion is an oxymoron.

Hattie23 · 18/09/2013 19:25

Will no-one think of the Little Donkey :(

doublemuvver · 18/09/2013 19:33

Well! I just don't know what to think.

SusuwatariToes · 18/09/2013 19:47

I think that Louise couldn't think of a nice way to tell you that you were being unreasonable so sent you here so that we would tell you instead.

SusuwatariToes · 18/09/2013 19:48

Yy atheism is not a religion.

puds11isNAUGHTYnotNAICE · 18/09/2013 19:50

Orchwoid can you not see that the school are respecting your wishes? You chose to remove your son from all 'religious shit', therefore it was your choice.

Are you getting that? Or are you going to run into a new school all guns blazing and make a bad name for yourself?

Morgause · 18/09/2013 19:55

So pleased this is still here.

Bunbaker · 18/09/2013 20:02

If you are real, can you not see what a laughing stock you are making for yourself at the school?

filee777 · 18/09/2013 20:03

Of course your son should be 'allowed' to take part in a big part of the school calendar regardless of your beliefs!

I am so surprised people here are so unable to see that!

I celebrate Yule, because for many centuries we have celebrated that time of year, it's cultural not religious.

I would be very angry too, if my child had been removed from a Christmas celebration like this! Way to make him feel bad about being raised atheist.

Turniptwirl · 18/09/2013 20:04

You wanted your son removed from religious education. The school complied.

When you realised this included the Christmas nativity play you went in fumming as they should have realised you wanted your son to be included in this particular bit of religion.

The school humoured you and said he could have a part.

You refused because its a "god part" in a fucking nativity play?!

What were you actually expecting and how on earth can the poor school make you happy? I actually have immense sympathy for the poor teachers who had to deal with your ridiculous "telling then about assemblys and god and shit". I also feel sorry for your son as he's likely to grow up just as bigoted and ignorant as you

If you reside in the same location as your laptop cable I can find out who you are by the time the butchers closes tomorrow.
