For the last few weeks, after spending five/ten mins in my living room I am snotty, sneezing loads, and have sore ears and throat.

The first time it happened, I thought I was coming down with something byt within minutes of getting to bed, I felt fine again.

On my days off work, Im getting out and about as soon as I can as sitting in that room makes me feel ill.

I thought I was being stupid but its happened again this.morning. I did a thorough vac two/three days ago (wooden floors so sweep daily) - vaccd the couch, every inch of floor and skirting board, cleaned all surfaces etc.

Somethings going on!!

What cleaning products did you use?

MortifiedAdams · 14/09/2013 07:20

Just a generic spray, which I have used around the house not just the living room.

Whats outside, plants? We have a lavender plant near our living room window and because of it DH can't spend much time in the living room in spring to early summer.

Do you have a scented candle or air freshener in the room which could be causing your reaction?

TheSitChewAceChien · 14/09/2013 07:59

Do you have any scented candles in there?
Plug in air freshener? They're a bugger for making me sneeze.

Oops X post!
Great minds... Wink

Could there be mold somewhere? My bedroom ceiling leaked I got quite a bit of mold in my room. Felt super sick every time I went in!

Thankfully, it got all cleaned up and it's fine now.

Have you just turned on the heating? The radiator might be particularly dusty in that room, especially if there was once a plant or flowers above/by the radiator dropping pollen into it.

MortifiedAdams · 14/09/2013 09:00

Have had the heating on, maybe thats a contributor. No air fresheneres. Had flowers in a few weeks ago but got rid of them a week ago.

Mould [embarassed] what if it is?! Would I be able to see it?

I have become allergic to something in the house, no idea what spent ages trying to work it out, eventually my gp told me to just take a daily anti-histamine. It's frustrating though.
