erm...why is that not acceptable to you? Is there a back story to this?

Sirzy · 11/09/2013 11:30

I am missing what the problem is?

WillYouDoTheFandango · 11/09/2013 11:31

Sounds like a good plan to me. Confused

HangingGardenofBabbysBum · 11/09/2013 12:33

How does your DH feel? And the kids? If they're all cool with you not going, stay in your pyjamas eating leftovers and the decent chocolates you hid, reading and catching up on quality drama, having long asks and gloating over your Christmas presents.

No doubt there'll be some mimsy tutting, but sod it. I bet you give your all for 11 months.

Happy Christmas!!

HangingGardenofBabbysBum · 11/09/2013 12:33

Long walks...

ilovesooty · 11/09/2013 12:33

You've got Christmas Eve off which many people won't have. I'm not getting what the problem is.

FeliciaDoolittle · 11/09/2013 12:36

I'm not really sure what you're asking.

Is it if you're BU for not going away when you're supposed to be working?

BlackeyedSusan · 11/09/2013 12:39

goodness no. 3 days off and two spent travelling. no thanks.

Smoorikins · 11/09/2013 12:39

Is he now thinking to go up for Xmas itself?

Has someone complained about the plan?

More info needed I think!

allmycats · 11/09/2013 12:41

That sounds bloody good to me !!

Dackyduddles · 11/09/2013 12:44

Problem is....?

GertBySea · 11/09/2013 12:45

Is DH now suggesting that you all go up north in the 3 days you're off?

sarascompact · 11/09/2013 12:47

"Up north" suggests a lot of driving on Christmas Eve, only one of your days off remotely restful and then more driving on Boxing Day. I can see why you wouldn't want to give up your three precious days to spend a fair part of them travelling with kids in the back of the car.

It seems sensible for you to spend the 3 days at home with the family and then for them to travel to MILs on the 27th as you'll be at work anyway.

I can't see anything wrong with that plan. Or am I missing something?

Bramshott · 11/09/2013 12:57

Current plan sounds good to me. We will do similar - I'll take the DDs to see my parents in the west country when DH is back at work on the 27th.

Scholes34 · 11/09/2013 13:20

If you really wanted to, you'd do it. Obviously, you're not keen.

Toohottohandle · 11/09/2013 14:53

Thankyou ladies
I was getting at the fact as to whether other people would travel in the 3 free days
I dont think it is enough time to travel either

Well it depends how far you mean. "The North" is a fairly big place and we don't know where your starting point is.

Toohottohandle · 12/09/2013 11:18

Hull takes 5 hours
Me and dh have discussed going to do those plans will spend xmas in our house only moved last dec
