AIBU to ask the bus driver to stop blowing his horn

I work in a hospital, there is a small roundabout which is a tight fit for the buses that come on site to get around. Tonight a black cab had stopped in the drop off zone driver nowhere it sight, it was blocking the bus. Behind the cab two relatives were helping a very frail elderly old man into a car, he could just about walk with two sticks. The bus driver who was waiting for about a minute was repeatedly blasting his horn a few feet from where the family were. They were all really stressed and I was worried that he would either fall or hurt himself trying to hurry.

I asked the bus driver to open the door and asked did he know there was no one in the taxi and so all he was doing blasting his horn was harassing the old boy who just needed a bit more time, and no-one could move anywhere until the cab driver came back.
He gave me an'ultra-polite' mouthful and the showdown ended with me taking his picture and him taking mine so we can report each other!

I hate bullying and this seemed like a bully in a double-decker, but I am also a bit of a busybody and perhaps I should have just kept my nose out.
Was I unreasonable?

Oh and so as not to drip, this is under the windows of NICU, outside the antenatal clinic , and it is not the first time, just the first time I saw it close to. It's a hospital not a damn bus station, could he not show a bit of consideration?

YANBU. Did you get the name of the driver?

I appreciate that bus drivers are on a schedule, but it sounds like this man needed a bit of a re brief on consideration.

No your not unreasonable at all. He should have been more patient. I wonder where the taxi driver had got to though because he was the one causing the holdup.

I'd love to see his complaint! I was always under the impression that there is something in the Highway code forbidding blowing your horn near a hospital. You should definitely report him. Find an email address for someone in charge of his company and send them your write-up and photo.

I am assuming he used a mobile to take your picture? Can't imagine that will go down well with his employers either.

Sounds like a reasonable request, but I would probably have approached the bus company rather than the individual driver as they have fairly strict timetables to stick to. If there is an ongoing problem with the spot where this happens then it will probably need to addressed at head office level.

Get his bus number and report him to both the bus company and the police. A horn should only be used to make another road user aware of your presence not to bully and old chap getting into a car. I hate bullying drivers with a passion.
