Taking my child to another eye test for a second opinion

My dc (6) had her first eye test done and she will need glasses for reading.
The lady said herself she wasn't very experienced, she wasn't sure the eye drops worked...asked help from her colleague...I just didn't feel convinced...how do I know dc wasn't plying up with the answers?
Should I go to other optician and repeat the test?

The retest shouldn't need to be authorised in advance. The optician testing can assign a code to the paperwork, showing the NHS that the test was done as a second opinion and this should be enough for the NHS

As LifeHuh says, the drops are good as they mean the optician doesn't need to rely on your child's answers, and the optician would have known if they didn't work once she began checking your dc's eyes again (although I understand it doesn't seem like it). Children are able to accommodate loads so the drops, although dilate the pupils as a side effect, are mainly used in children to stop accommodation and therefore give a 'true' prescription for the optician to work from.

I think it's very unlikely the optician would have got anything wrong as they go through so much training and are governed by strict rules, but as said before your dc's vision is obviously very important and if you have any doubts you should get a second opinion.
