I am so frustrated.
My kids don't want to do anything.
DH is working this weekend; I need to get out of the house at least once a day and so do they.

Everything I suggest is met with moans and groans.
They are unable to offer any alternatives.
They just mope about the house and intermittently whinge that they are bored.

Oftern I cajole, persuade, bully them into getting dressed/having breakfast/get in the car so we can go to the park/swimming/soft play, but I Have Had Enough to be waving pompoms all the time.

So, for tomorrow I have told them what I suggest we'd do. It is now up to them to let me know when they are ready to go...

AIBU to abdicate all responsiblity for their entertainment and let them slob in front of Minecraft/Roblox/TV all day tomorrow??

Let them slob!

squoosh · 07/09/2013 21:23

Let the little sods learn to entertain themselves!

neveronsunday · 07/09/2013 21:25

The last time my DCs were like this I took them to get the car cleaned, the supermarket, tip, filled car up with petrol.

Then they came home & I made them tidy their rooms. Grin

PacificDogwood · 07/09/2013 21:34

Argh, now I am even more torn.

Tempting to let them slop and MN a lot

neveronasunday, I've done that before, but the sheer effort of having to get them all (aged 10 to 3) in to the car makes it not worthwhile. And they are not what you'd call 'biddable' children... Hmm.
I blame DH's DNA he is an awkward sod too Grin

let them slob it is fine for them to be bored if they want to be at the tv or on computer let them but dont let them moan and then just do your own thing at home,

PacificDogwood · 08/09/2013 10:55

So.
It's almost 11.
DH is at work.
We've had breakfast.
Nobody (including myself) is dressed.
A load of washing is on.
As is Tom and Jerry on frigging Boomerang Hmm.
The sun is out...

I could just pootle about my graden, couldn't I? And let them rot inside??

How old are they op?

TheYoniWayIsUp · 08/09/2013 11:08

Yeah, leave them to it!

PacificDogwood · 08/09/2013 11:16

They are 3, 5, 9 and 10.

Some of us are dressed now - I suppose that's something Hmm

Do they enjoy things when you get there? Or is it still moans and graons?

expatinscotland · 08/09/2013 12:20

Leave them to it and tend to your garden.

LePetitPrince · 08/09/2013 12:24

Get the Sunday papers and a nice mug of tea and walk into another room. Make sure the door is shut. Tell them you'll come out when they're reasonable. I'd probably turn tv off too!

Mine hate seeing me relax so they generally find the enthusiasm to go out when I do.

PacificDogwood · 08/09/2013 12:28

Another lazy day it is here Hmm. TV's off though Wink.

DS2 has gone to a friend's house - he is the least like to just 'go along' with anything and tends to fight with DS3 so having them in 2 different locations makes staying at home easier.

I am quite content to tidy a bit, write some e-mails that have been over due and plant some bulbs for next spring.

As long as they are entertained they don't give two hoots what I do - relax or ortherwise.
