Ok..I recently posted my holiday pics on Facebook. A friend (who lives far away and I see once or twice a year) texted me full of concern asking me if I was ok and saying she was worried about me....

I asked her why she was worried and she said that judging by my pictures I'd put on weight and needed to go on a diet!!!

I mean I'm not sure what to say to her. I kind of want to laugh cos she is super into her looks and a bit desperate but then I'm thinking that this is really rude of her....or is she just being a good friend?

I suppose what I find annoying is that when someone puts on weight - they are VERY aware of it and don't really need anyone pointing it out..

And yes, Numberlock, it was a bit of a trap with the ole "I'm concerned about you" tactic!

I think she's just jealous of your holiday. Ignore!

I would be more concerned about her lack of social awareness than your weight. I dream of being a small 16!

Maybe the mumsnet classic of "did you mean to sound so rude?" is appropriate
