to ask the Mumsnet jury whether I should go for a job interview tomorrow?

For various reasons I've had a hell of a couple of weeks, so really haven't prepared at all (and I really did need to - it's right out of my area). Is it worth going along anyway, or should I ring and cancel to avoid all-round demoralisation and embarrassment?

Go you might surprise your self ! Can you not cram info now and tonight?

HormonalHousewife · 05/09/2013 10:58

Do you want the job ?

can you do any preparation now ?

Do you need the interview practice ?

If all three answers are 'No' then I would cancel.

Jolleigh · 05/09/2013 10:59

You'd be surprised how much prep you can do in a single focused evening. Give yourself a few hours tonight and go ahead. You might surprise yourself.

Crowler · 05/09/2013 11:00

Is it a technical interview? I don't understand how you can't be prepared. Do you mean you need interview coaching?

AFishWithoutABicycle · 05/09/2013 11:04

Just go and if there is technical questions just be completely honest about not being able to prepare. What's the worst that can happen.

tywysogesgymraeg · 05/09/2013 11:04

Go. You might not get the job, but it's good interview experience anyway.

FetchezLaVache · 05/09/2013 11:05

I would cram tonight and go. If nothing else, treat it as a practice run in the event that another job comes up in that area so you know what questions to expect, etc.

ZipIt · 05/09/2013 11:07

Right, thank you very much all. I'm now inspired by the idea of how much info could be crammed into my (slightly jumbled) head in an evening. Snap decision made. Thanks again. Nothing ventured, etc.

(HormonalHousewife, there are at least 2 yeses to those Qs. Crowler - it's not directly in the area I currently work in. I'll need to do quite a lot of reading to begin to sound like I know what I'm talking about).
