im normally a sun worshipper but being 28 weeks pregnant I haven't enjoyed at all this year.
im hot and flustered and haven't been able to get in the sun much as its just disagreed with my pregnant state so much.
im also so exited about Halloween, bonfire night, christmas, snow and of course the arrival of our baby in November!
cant wait till xmas!

I'm also due in November, but I'm a cold blooded person. My hands and feet stay cold all year round so I don't feel the hot weather! Infact I love it, even at 30 weeks Grin.

I never used to be like this, but my vitamin D deficiency really changed my body's reaction to heat mentally and physically for some reason.

So YABU! I want it to be mild in early November so I can take the baby out for a walk in the park without freezing to death!

TheCatIsUpTheDuff · 03/09/2013 15:21

Noooo!!!! I'm 33+3 and need it to stay at least warm-ish so I don't have to buy any more maternity clothes. Almost all I've got is summer stuff. It'd still be hot if you weren't pregnant and your feet would still be puffy if it wasn't hot. Late pregnancy just sucks.

AhoyAhoy · 03/09/2013 16:16

32 weeks and I hate myself for thinking the same, but I can't cope with the mosquito bites anymore. They are agony, keeping me up at night. I love the summer, but summer pregnancy doesn't agree with me. Just a shame it's the perfect pregnancy timing for a teacher, so plan to do it all again in 2 years time!

I live in Qatar and had a 3 hour site visit today in 40c with overalls, reflective jacket hat and boots. I think it should be cold on weekdays and sunny and warm weekends. Its not much to ask...

Charlie is this "smells of bonfires in the air, coming in from the cold to a warm fire, Christmas lights, warm snuggly boots, woolly scarves." really your experience of winter? The number of times that lot applies could be counted on the fingers of - um - one finger, I think! It sounds lovely, but actually it's windy, wet and expensive. Snow is inconvenient and (even in the country) spends more time slushy and brown than pretty. How many bonfires do your neighbours have anyway? What on earth do they find to burn?

urtwistingmymelonman · 03/09/2013 19:30

oooh another unpleasant thing about this heat is that they've just started spreading the fields with poo and the heat warms it up and makes it smell worse especially with the heightened sense of smell during pregnancy.

"In your head it is all frosty walks, fires and toasting marshmallows but turns out to be cold and wet, washing hung up round the house and massive fuel bills."

I hate it when my neighbours have bonfires. They only seem to have them when I have my washing out. We were severely disrupted by the snow last winter/spring, and winter here is always cold and damp. We get very few crisp, frosty sunny days.

I find Christmas over rated, I hate being stuck indoors for days and days on end, I hate the low light levels because they leave me feeling low and out of sorts, I hate the long nights and short days. I hate having to wear several layers to keep warm and spending ages getting togged up to go outside in the snow. And I hate being cold more than anything else.

The only good thing about winter is that TV tends to get better

I'll let the heavily pregnant off, but will chase anyone else moaning with a long pointy stick.

I've had 2 winter babies (yes, this April counted as winter!) and although keeping warm in limited clothing was a mild compesation, being snowed in for vast chunks of time was not heathy. First time I couldn't get out of the house on my own for the final 3 weeks and we were concerned about how to get out of our ice-crusted road to the hospital. This winter was on and off for 3 months and complicated by a toddler that wouldn't walk in the white stuff.

It's great having the baby in the warm weather- when it gets cold, it'll take an extra half an hour to wrap two small people up enough to leave the house!

VerySmallSqueak · 04/09/2013 09:03

Agree Bunbaker.
If like me,you live anywhere without streetlights, and tarmac'd pavements,Winter is long, dark and muddy..
