At the age of 64, Diana Nyad has realised her dream of swimming from Cuba to the US without a shark cage. The first person to ever do this.

My dream is to travel the world, hence the name.

To be a midwife.

Not gonna happen and my heart breaks a bit more every day. Gah.

I'm not clever enough. Not woe is me, but I'm just not.

I was utterly shit at science in school. I'm god awful in maths. I'm dyslexic and my general understanding of things is pretty poor. I'm not a good catch Grin

The local midwife degree courses are fiercely competitive beyond words.

Alas, it is a pipe dream.

My dream(s) have never been allowed to have a real voice up to now.

So they are tentative, and may slightly change.

To return to education

Leading to finding a career that I love that pays well

To be emotionally happy with/without a man

To believe that I can take on the challenges facing me to achieve all of those

To go to Iceland to see the Northern Lights

To start living the life that's off in my head somewhere. You know, the one where I am better at everything and have more fun/friends/confidence/success etc and am sure of where I'm going.

I think I probably need to get more specific!

One day I'd love to own a coffee shop, with comfy armchairs and bookshelves and handmade pastries and cakes.

My dream is to have my own really close, tight knit family. For me and DP to have lots of children and start our own business out in the sticks somewhere.

And curly wurly lovers, they are only like 110 calories! I got through a ton of them when I was doing weight watchers because they are low in cal for chocolate, and they take ages to eat Grin

To get my qualification in my chosen career ( with some monetary support from work)

For this country to willingly elect a government with a mandate to significantly reduce inequality.

For the privileged to invest less in maintaining privilege and more in a collective 'us'.

(I feel quite privileged in many ways, so I'm not speaking as the envious poor.)
