To spend this much on a pair of boots?!?

Pros

They are beautiful
Hardy
Waterproof
Sturdy
Beautiful
Are £50 off from last year.

Cons? They are still £125

I don't normally spend that kind of money in myself however...
The army issue para boots I have been wearing for the last 4 years are almost dead so I'm looking to replace them with something fitted and easier to take off.

I do need quality boots as I live in Scotland (nuff said!) I am not generally a shoe collector and literally wear my boots every day that its too cold for sandal (except driving lessons which I have pumps for)

As to can I afford it, I suppose so. I have been budgeting hard and so have been putting money away for winter essentials.

However I don't have the money to waste iyswim.

So give it to me straight... An I being hopelessly selfish and I'm blinded by love if these boots (in black, with red laces, swoon) or a they a worthy investment, which I will treasure and value for years to come.

Has anyone tried them? Are they as good as the reviews?

a good pair of sturdy boots is worth paying out for and they will look good once they are worn in. i buy a pair of frye campus boots every 2 years and wear them most days in the winter and often in the summer too worth the money

I paid £225 for ugg noira last year . I wore them every day last winter and I'll wear them every day this winter . They are waterproof and fur lined and toasty and warm . I know it's a lot but I have got my money's worth from them . I hate having cold feet .

nah. I spent £200 on a pair of boots. Ten years ago. They still look fantastic, and I wear them day in and day out in autumn and winter. Buy cheap, you pay twice.

Okay...I ve just ordered them as well. Hope they fit! Am assuming I can return them if not. I am in the frozen UK North and am sick of having frozen toes in winter

I hope they fit, they are gorgeous, but it's snows to rarely down here to own anything but wellies.

My best fashion boots were over a £100. My DM bought me one boot for my birthday and one for Christmas Grin

You should get years of service out of those.

I was pg with DS1 in the days of the Health in Pregnancy Grant. I spent mine on a good pair of boots (£100- £110 ish) and a maternity coat. A sound use of the money as they have kept me warm comfortable (and healthy) through two pregnancies in long, harsh winters. The boots are still doing well after 3 winters, and my boot season started early and ended late last year.

Happy comfortable feet are worth paying for.

If no one's going to starve & you're not paying for them using a payday loan company it really doesn't matter what you spend. Timberland boots are also very good & long lasting.

I always spend as much as i can on boots, coats, bras, jeans and face cream. Anything you are going to use repeatedly and rely on daily needs to be the best quality it can be.

Last year i hummed and hawed about a north face arctic parka in the sale. But it was worth every penny - a real investment. I bet i will still be wearing it in 5-10 years.

Wear them and feel great about it. :)

I bought a pair of Timberlands a couple if years ago. Paid around £150 for mid-calf fur-lined boots. On a cost pet wear basis they have been some of my cheapest footwear and they still look like new. I will never buy cheap boots again.

You should go for it lady beagle, foot wear in the highlands is not to be taken lightly!

I live in the outskirts of Edinburgh but come winter snow you'd think it was the outer Hebrides! I was physically snowed in for a week 3 winters ago the snow plough had been but it had created a 12ft solid wall of snow stopping up being able to open the gate. I haven't described it well but the gate opened outward so it was honestly impossible. There were 10 of us living there and it took a week for use to get out onto the main road

There is a village less than 3 miles from me that has 2 buses a day. Less than 10 miles from a capital city Shock

You'd think Scotland would be a bit more prepared for snow Grin

Like me with my new boots eeeeewk!

Amazon prime so I should get them today. I will report back for the wide footed Smile

Another fan with Merrells from four winters ago. They are still looking as good as when purchased. In recent winters of snow, then slippy pavements, then melting mush...I have never had cold feet.

They are just fab! Just rub them clean with a baby wipe and look as good as new. They seem indestructible.

My £140 fit flop boots have done three winters (i.e. every day that is too cold for flip flops) and numerous nights out clubbing. They're also the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. I hummed and hawed about it because until then the most I'd ever paid for an item of clothing was about £40 but they were worth every penny and I'm sure I'll get another three winters out of them before I have to replace them.

Grin Mn boots

Mine haven't arrived. Stupid dpd decided they would hold them and wait for me to call and say I wanted them. What the use in amazon prime if stupid dpd are just going to hold on. To my super special amazing 4x more expensive than any item if clothing I've ever bought before boots.

Please that others are liking them enough to invest, it totally validates my decision Smile

I really wish I hadnt clicked on this thread... I live somewhere with the same climate as scotland & now I am desperate for those boots!!! :)
