We have a fairly large (flat, so you can walk across it) roundabout near us (5 exits) and barriers between the road and pavement near the roundabout with pedestrian crossings further down the exit roads iyswim.
This morning I encountered a man with 2 small children (toddler/pre-schooler) on the wrong side of the fence, balancing on the tiny bit of accessible curb and trying to cross right over the centre of the roundabout. Why do people do this? Why not walk 100 or so yards on the pavement and cross in safety, especially when you have youngsters with you? I can kind of understand it when teenagers do it as they just don't think, but a grown man with small children?
AIBU to think that not only was he putting the children in danger, but setting a shocking example to them too? A police car was behind me too and didn't seem at all bothered.
