Went to a large huge shopping centre today. Birthday money in my pocket and i need a pair of shoes. After walking around a bit i decide to just buy a new pair of converse, in blue. I have a red pair already but they are a bit knackered. So, off I go to John lewis - nup, they only have white - no problem, so i ask where the nearest shop is that will sell them. Am directed to OFFICE.
My Ears!!!!!! WTAF is it with these places - house (or shed or outside loo) music at deafening volume
Staff were lovely an helpful and i know this is a "young persons" shop but FFS!! I almost didn't manage to hold out while i queued and paid for them. DP and DD gave up and had to leave the shop even though DD had said that she wanted a pair too (she is 8) so they missed out on a further £25 sale simply because we couldn't stand it anymore!
Of course office weren't the only ones, I feel sorry for the staff, even if you are 18 and a party animal i can only imagine that its like aural torture after 8 hours of it
Why do stores think its good marketing to deafen customers, does it scramble neural networks in some way and make you spend more money? Because all it did was make me want to leave
