because my dishwasher will not wash them. They are a slightly odd shape and whatever way I put them in they come out dirty. I've tried every position I can think off and still have dirty bowls. They were not expensive at all...

Keep them

WhereYouLeftIt · 29/08/2013 19:05

Use them as training aids to teach DC how to do the washing up by hand?

Sirzy · 29/08/2013 19:06

Use a sink and some water - fantastic method of getting things clean!

Rummikub · 29/08/2013 19:07

Charity.

YANBU, if it doesn't go in the dishwasher it has no place in your life! Grin recycle as bowls for winter bulbs?

NoComet · 29/08/2013 19:11

Buy some glass/porcelain paints and let the DCs paint them and hand wash them to preserve their art work Grin

gintastic · 29/08/2013 19:13

I like the decorating idea :-) I know I could just wash them by hand, I don't put pans through the dishwasher but its the fact that they SHOULD be able to go through and just won't, for whatever reason, that seriously annoys me!

Charity shop if you must get rid, but I have white bowls all around the house doing all kinds of jobs - get creative.

DoJo · 29/08/2013 19:42

Do it - there's no point having a labour saving device if you end up having an increasing list of things which it can't do, and crockery which you use regularly isn't worth it unless you particularly love them.

McNewPants2013 · 29/08/2013 19:44

put them on the top rack.

ChunkyPickle · 29/08/2013 19:52

nope. We have some wine glasses with the same problem which are gathering dust in the top of the cabinet because of it.

gintastic · 29/08/2013 21:22

McNew, I have seriously tried them in every conceivable position, and they will not come clean!

Apparently you can draw on them with Sharpie pens and then bake in the oven to make it permanent. Might get creative with the kidlets this weekend :-)

If it doesn't go in the dishwasher it doesn't deserve to survive. That's my DPs view point. Bit of an argument caused when he dishwasherd my really nice Fijian wood salad servers. And my really nice Indonesian wood chop sticks. < sore point>
