To Crash Diet?

Going on holiday next saturday, the first since DD was born 10 months ago. I'm a lot more doughy than I'd like to be. I know crash dieting wont achieve anything, and I'm not going to (was trying to get your attention with the title - SNEEKY!), but does anyone have any tips of what I can do to improve the situation, even a tiny bit? Is it worth going for a run everyday/skipping carbs/drinking 12 pints of water etc etc? (I don't eat any processed food)...

Trick is with right clothing try free personal shoppers in stores to get ideas then try altering clothes in your wardrobe if can

Cut out sugar and carbs. Don't eat fatty meat like Lamb or pork and take the skin off chicken. Drunk loads of water, at least 2/3 litres a day (and only drink water, no juice etc). Tea and coffee is fine as long as you use red milk and no sugar. Eat as much green leafy veg as you want. At least half your plate should be made up of veg when you eat. Cut down on fruit too. Don't drink any alcohol at all.

Also do some Pilates exercises, it will help tone you up and strengthen your core, improving your posture at the same time.

Not the best way to diet but you will lose weight, but don't do it for too long.

You will get headaches for the first few days, drink water to combat them. Day three will be your hardest in terms of low carbs, you will crave them, but get through it and you will be fine. But do not do it long term, use it as a way to kick start your weight loss and control your diet. Think about what you are eating and also why (are you really hungry or are you bored?) Sometimes people eat when infact they are thirsty.

Oh and I think yanbu to want to diet if you are unhappy, but do it healthily as you'll will put it all back on if you don't.

I agree with lonely plus first thing when you get up a small cup of hot water. Helps to cleanse the stomach.

I do the attack phase of Dukan diet when I want to shift a couple of pounds quickly. Basically you can only eat protein and low fat dairy, nothing else, but you can eat as much protein as you want. So I eat lots of eggs, chicken and steak, but you can eat fish as well.

What's the difference between a glass of cold water and a glass of hot water, Tittypulumpcious?

Cutting out carbs can have consequences on your body later in life a sensible balanced diet is a lot better overall and means body looks healthy not drawn and lacking energy. Its more about GI index than cutting carbs out completely Pilates is good way of toning up gently

The Dukan Diet!! I lost the last stubborn as hell 8lbs of my baby weight by doing it and my husband lost 3 stone. It took me less than 3 weeks (I didn't cheat once) and my husband took 2.5 months. It's amazing if you do it properly!

AugustaCarp · 26/08/2013 19:33

I'm vegetarian, so the Dukan diet is neigh on impossible!
