It's meant to be coming today. They have not turned up. Definitely correct address, etc. Bought from big online retailer.

Bought food today at supermarket for freezer (don't have one at the mo) which is in fridge, I don't know our neighbours well enough to ask if we can use their freezer. AIBU to ask for money off if freezer doesn't turn up today as food may well go bad? There is no phone number anywhere on any of their communications to me, just a no reply email address.

I wouldn't term it as money off the freezer - if I were you, I would be asking for compensation for the spoiled food that you had bought in anticipation of the freezer's arrival.

Sorry to hear you're having problems, but you can't use a new freezer straight away. It has to stand for 12 hours or overnight to let all liquid in the workings run down. ( or so I found out when I bought a new one) I really hope your food doesn't spoil!

You might get a small offer I got £65 for my new washer and dryer turning up 3 days late due the system placing two orders then customer service deleting the wrong one which then gave me the later deliverly day

YABU

They didn't tell you to go and buy frozen food before the freezer arrived

And as Elesbe says, you can't use it straight away anyway.

I think you were being a little eigar to order foot to be delivered the day the freezer is delivered.
As far as I have always known you aren't supposed to turn it on for 24 hours after it has been moved in order to let the liquids/gasses settle (or it can damage the freezer).
I have had many freezers over the years and this has always been the case.

I don't understand how you could order from a company that you have no contact information for.
That sounds very suspicious.

Eager even (bloody autocorrect)

oh I didn't know I couldn't use it straightaway! Oh well. It's not meat or fish, just chips and stuff.

You are unreasonable to have bought frozen food before it was set up.

They are unreasonable to have not delivered on time!

You should allow your freezer to stand without switching it on (refer to instruction manual) and you should not put anything in it until it has reached the correct temperature, putting unfrozen food into the freezer before it has reached the correct - temp will result in it taking longer to reach the correct temp and food will take longer to freeze and will increase the risk of bacteria forming on the food, (this is why you shouldn't re-freeze food that has defrosted, unless you cook it first).
