To shriek in horror at FB friend request and ask, WTF have I just let myself in for?

Well wouldn't you just shit if you clicked on a 'new friend request' and found that it was from someone who you don't know but who you know a lot about, and you like none of it.

I have agreed to participate in an event, and this other person is presumably going to participate as well. I think this other person is a nutjob and I'm going right off the idea of the event. AIBU?

OK, I will try to clarify or be a bit more sensible. I have been asked to speak at a debate. Someone who is a high-ish profile representative of the Other Side (who I dislike because of the views she holds and airs) has friend-requested me on FB, which I think is a loopy thing to do. The one messaging me might agree with me in broad principles, but I do not terribly want a couple of strangers having a fight over me on Facebook, either...

Wasn't me.

Is it EL James?

Liz Jones?

Actually, I would quite like to meet EL James and buy her a pint. I'm actually genuinely creeped out by this particular person, though, and have checked my FB settings to make sure she can't find out much about me.

Don't accept she's clearly just done it to find some dirt to use against you in the debate.
