To be sick of DH being a miserable sod?

Sunday morning - we don't need to get up or rush to do anything so its about 9am and we're still bed. We're both awake so I try and go for a bit of a kiss and cuddle - this is when he decides it's time to get up Hmm

So we get up, I put the radio on. He turns it down then turns it right up when one of his favourite songs come on. The back door is open and it's a very quiet (almost silent!) neighbourhood so I turn it down slightly. He rolls his eyes and mopes into the living room.

I decide to make the effort. I sit next to him and say "give us a cuddle?" he does but it seems forced. I try and lighten the mood and ask if he wants a head massage, he says he does. I ggo to give him a massage and my hand gives way and I fall slightly. He tuts and mutters "for fucks sake" and moves away quite moodily. I tell him it was an accident and give him a playful swipe on the head and he snaps "just fuck off!" Sad so I do. I go and eat coco pops and drink coffee in the other room and leave him to it. He comes in a few minutes later apologising and saying I had given him gog bother and it was a knee jerk reaction. I told him I'm sick of him being a miserable bastard (this whole episode is not a one off)

AIBU to think normal happy people dont act like this and blow up like a toddler over a bit of gog bother? feeling fed up with life right now

Even google doesn't know what gog bother is!

TheFallenNinja · 18/08/2013 17:38

I've submitted it to Urban Dictionary, I'll update when we have a definition.

AKissIsNotAContract · 18/08/2013 17:41

there are already 3 pages of definitions on UD

I was gog bothering a god botherer at my brother's gig recently, so I feel your pain. Another one desperate to know what it means

TheFallenNinja · 18/08/2013 18:24

I've met a Welsh gog once. Terrifying

Gog bother aside OP, YANBU. Unfortunately mine has been getting that way too. Not an affectionate bone in his body and always jumping down my throat. God forbid he be nice to the woman carrying his child!

How's the power balance in your relationship normally? I'm normally relatively submissive (at home only) and did pull the rug from under DP's feet the other day when I told him I feel like I've been stupid enough to get pregnant to a man who doesn't like me and that I'd rather be a single mother than continue with the current state of affairs.

He does seem to have realised he can't treat me like an inconvenience now...

MrsLouisTheroux · 18/08/2013 19:48

OP where are you? !

Hemlet · 18/08/2013 19:53

If my husband told me to fuck off I'd be very upset and tell him so, Morning person or not.

BramshawHill · 18/08/2013 20:53

All this talk of gog bothering aside, is there any chance there is actually something wrong with him? Something on his mind maybe, stressed or unhappy that's making it hard for him to muster any enthusiasm or affection?
maybe have a sit down and talk about it sometime.
