So, I've posted in here about being diagnosed with PEP (Polymorphic Eruption of Pregnancy), I've had it for a month now and it is basically an incredibly itchy all over body rash. I'm literally covered in red welts 'and little Meth Head looking scabs, from all the itching) everywhere apart from my face and am constantly scratching. I'm told it will be here until my little tummy tenant shows up which is another three months. Considering the itchiness only allows me about 2 hours sleep a night, this seems like forever!

To add insult to injury I've now got a mega cough/cold/sore throat combo and genrally just feel like packing it all in.

Well today I've decided I need to (wo)man up and cheer up, accept it as it is and get myself feeling more positive, the only problem in having is I have no idea where to start as I feel like a big, itchy, moany, bloated mess covered in spots...

AIBU to ask for your help and suggestions to 'cheaply' get me feeling like a human woman again and to slap my miserable butt into gear?

TIA Grin

Oh, you have my sympathy everythinghippie. I had this with my first (many moons ago) and I never even knew it had a name...midwife and GP all just scratched their heads.

I was prescribed Piriton (doesn't cross the placenta/affect the baby apparently, although check for updates on this). I used to take cool baths with a splash of natural oil and try desperately not to scratch the top layer of skin off my legs before bed and when I woke. I found that I was fine during the day as I dressed covering all the affected areas with natural fibres and no opportunity for skin on skin contact (thick tights/trousers only). As soon as I went to bed it always seemed worse and I found staying as cool as possible helped.

The great thing is, it really does just completely dissapear as soon as your baby arrives. Oh and I never had it ever again witth subsequent pregnancies.

Freshly washed PJs and sheets + box set + bath + takeaway. Do it.
