OK, maybe overreacting slightly. Or maybe not.

Friend is moving house in a few weeks and busy packing, so I offered to drop by with quick and easy lunch. Stopped at the shop for bbq (roasted) chicken and breadrolls (and chips and gravy) and went over. She then proceeded to remove all traces of skin from the chicken, as well as pulling off the wings and THREW THEM IN THE BIN before serving.

WHAAAAT?? Isn't that the best bit? And even if you didn't like them yourself, wouldn't you at least ask the guest (who drove two hours each way, brought the food with them and paid for it) if they liked them before THROWING THEM IN THE BIN!!!!

I'm not sure I'll ever get over this. ::sobs quietly::

God I love chicken skin. And cheesy chips and gravy.

I'm nine stone and a size 10, hope that's ok with you, atrcts?

limitedperiodonly · 18/08/2013 10:09

I love chicken skin. I don't think calling it a crime against humanity is going too far.

Some people are very anxious about food and weight and nutrition. It leads them to do and say very odd things indeed. Naming no names.

Possibly it's caused by a chemical imbalance in their brains that could be sorted by a good gnaw on some pork crackling.

ThisIsaLoooow · 18/08/2013 10:10

I wolf the skin and wings!
I am 5 ft 11 and size 10 what a load of bollocks atrcts

RinkyDinkyDoo · 18/08/2013 10:17

Chips and gravy,mmmmmmmmm.

ApocalypseCheeseToastie · 18/08/2013 10:18

Why are people wasting their finger muscles on the likes of atrcts ??

Honestly, you people never learn, the best way to make it piss off and go bore some other poor sod is to ignore it. Tsk.

waikikamookau · 18/08/2013 10:29

i dont like skin now but I love wings.
she should have offered you the skin and wings op, but to throw them away, not rude, just faddy I think.

HepsibarCrinkletoes · 18/08/2013 14:30

Mmmmm. Crispy chicken skin, wings and chips and gravy. Possibly up there as the best hangover food ever.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 18/08/2013 16:15

Eating a mini sausage roll at a party, then trying to engage four other people, none of whom care, in a discussion of why she did it

Grin Nicely observed.

phantomnamechanger · 18/08/2013 16:21

I want chips and gravy Sad

SPsTotallyMullerFuckingLicious · 18/08/2013 16:26

YABU about the chips and gravy. Gravy is rank.

YANBU about the skin and wings. The skin is the best bit. I'm the only one who likes chicken skin in my family so when we go to mums for a roast dinner I get all the skin.

Bluesparks · 18/08/2013 16:32

Skin is the best bit. Without it, it's not barbecue chicken, it's chicken that's been dicked about with. Touch my food and you'll get a punch in the throat.

Misspixietrix · 18/08/2013 16:42

YNBU another one who likes the skin and the wing and yes I think she Should have offered at least. Why is Chips and Gravy yuck? Is it just a Northern thing then? Smile

Famzilla · 18/08/2013 17:17

To be fair I never eat chicken wings or skin. Nothing faddy I just don't like it. I too would have just assumed that there was no problem with me binning them and serving the good stuff (IMO).

McNewPants2013 · 18/08/2013 17:21

Love hot and spicy wings, but not off a roast chicken.

Chip and gravy is the food of gods.
