AIBU to go and find this child's house?

Earlier I was walking through a street a couple of streets away from mine on my way home. In front there was 3 kids stood talking, two girls and a boy. The girls were about 10 and the boy was probably about 7.
Anyway as I got nearer to them I heard the boy say in a jokey way 'she's been having sex with her boyfriend!' to one of the girls about the other girl. They all started laughing. But then as I got a bit past them I heard the girl that he was talking about say 'you're not supposed to tell anyone that! ' and then she started laughing as well.

I don't know what to make of it and now it's playing on my mind. I don't know if they were just being silly and thought it was a funny thing to say. But what she said has stuck with me and now I'm thinking well if it's true then I need to say something. It's quite a small estate so it would be easy enough to find her house.

What should I do?

I second the school idea.

And a 7 year old told you to piss off???? Shock I think I'm living in a different world Sad

If someone overheard my ten year old speaking like this then I would hope someone would tell me.

The chances are it is not true...for the tiny chance it is, or that the girl is being abused, I would be willing to risk an ear bashing from a parent.

Sounds a really odd conversation for such young children imo.

I'm sure mine knew about sex at that age, but to "accuse" another of having sex-just no!

Or it would have been met with giggles & "eewwww!"

At that age I thought that dry humping was sex and that you could get pregnant from it.
Now as an adult I have worked with young people and some of them have been sexually active from the age of 11. Sexual health services are wary of handing out contraceptives to people nder the age if 13 as it is statutory rape under this age, but they do hand stuff out to some if they believe that the young person is a willing participant as the alternative of pregnancy would be quite devastating.
The world has changed and it isn't incomprehensible that a 10 year old might be sexually active, but it is still very very disturbing as they are still small children.
OP- I wouldn't go actively seeking the child's address because it could be a misunderstanding but be alert in case you hear anything else in the community which gives cause for concern.
If you really think the child is sexually active and find out the address then an anonymous call to social services would be much more appropriate than going round and knocking on the doror.
