I like to make things as a hobby especially for christmas time, i dont charge for them or make any money.they are for my children or family children. Someone has asked me to make for them and mentioned the school fair.l but i am worried i am not a professional, what if the embellishments came away ect im sure there are many rules that need to be adhered to which im not aware of due to it being a small hobby

Not sure if im being daft but feel really uncomfortable since its just a hobby, do you make things and if you do do you gift them? :)

I would offer to show them how to make the thing, if they wanted.

Would you get much pleasure from them being sold at a school fair? I think there's a world of difference between making gifts and making products to be sold IMHO

that would be good i would be happy to show them how to make them. i agree with you there is a huge difference in me making something for my niece/nephew and things actually being sold. i know the ones i did last year a few of the embellishments came off id hate to think of anyone getting hurt or anything like that.

It's the fun/pleasure factor though. I knit. I like to give the things to people who I think will like them/appreciate them. I would rather give them away than have them sold (for very little usually).

Depends on how much goes into them I suppose - some beads threaded onto elastic - ok. Some dainty things that needed skill and patience to make, flogged for a token amount .

Nosey now - what sort of things do you make?
