AIBU to think about sleeping in DDs cot

BlushBlush

Dd is 10m old and a nightmare sleeper. This week she has been teething really badly and had a nasty ear infection so sleep has been almost non exsistant. I'm basically a LP because OH is never here always at work or popping to see a friend for a drink but anyway. So this week I've hardly had any sleep tonight she's been in been since 7:30 but awake crying for the last 2 hours and the only place she will sleep is if I lie in her cot with boob in her mouth or eventually on my chest.

I would get her in my bed but OH has come back drunk and stinking of smoke so that's out the window. We have no spare room so I either sleep in the cot or we will be up. For god knows how long Hmm

Get your Dp up and on the couch! Hope she sleeps soon

ILoveAFullFridge · 17/08/2013 00:45

Co-sleep

CompleteZombieMummy · 17/08/2013 00:46

Small faces- the bed will stink of smoke now Hmm

Fudge - there's no where to sleep but the cot, floor or sofa and they don't appeal to me

I know I'd rather have a 10m old than a drunk smokey bloke in my bed Hmm

catkind · 17/08/2013 00:48

Ah, it's already smokey? Cot mattress on floor? Make a nest out of spare duvet?

CompleteZombieMummy · 17/08/2013 00:48

I think I'm going to lose my mind Sad

Sorry, miss-read as 10w and was going to discourage co-sleeping on the couch. But at 10m I doubt it's dangerous.

What about making yourself a nest on the floor? Wouldn't you be more comfortable, and she can't fall off?

Hope she feels better soon.

Buddhagirl · 17/08/2013 00:51

Tell dh to stay down stairs.

Dummy?

CompleteZombieMummy · 17/08/2013 00:51

I wouldn't get on the sofa, I'm a completely freak when she gets into bed with me waking up thinking she's crawled off or fall out Hmm not good.

I think ill make a bed on the floor with the mattress after I go stand next to OH while she screams and hope it gives him a headache

Budd I am her dummy Hmm

It's almost calpol time soon so hopefully that helps too

Get to bed! Floor if necessary! Just make sure you get some sleep.

MrsCakesPremonition · 17/08/2013 01:03

Sounds horrible.
Get thee to Argos and buy an inflatable mattress and some spare bedding.
Then OH can use it when you are co-sleeping with DD in your bed, and you can use it on your DD's floor if necessary.
Ours was a lifesaver - at least I managed to snooze for a bit rather than being completely sleep deprived.

Elsiequadrille · 17/08/2013 01:11

You will ache horribly tomorrow if you attempt to sleep in the cot all cramped up. I'd rather sleep on the floor, or remove your dh (sofa?) and change the bedding.

CompleteZombieMummy · 17/08/2013 01:18

I've got the cot mattress on te floor and some
Spare bedding and sea jus dozing off so fingers crossed I manage toget some shut eye and if she wakes up at 5am for the day ill be getting the pots and pans out to wake OH up too
