to think that whilst shellac type nail stuff is great, taking it off is a PITA?

The best way I've found yet is pads soaked in nail polish remover, held in place with tinfoil, but still takes ages, and patience is not one of my greatest gifts...
Don't want to stop using it as it's finally stopping me from biting them, but surely there is an easier way of getting it off when it starts to get tatty?
Happy to be told I am a muppet if I'm missing the blindingly obvious !

I dont take it off myself. Nail lady does it.

Currently sporting blue shellac nails. Smile

try vinylux - its gives the same effect as shellac, lasts about a week but is removable with normal nail polish remover just like normal nail polish.

shellac ruined my nails - they split to the point they were bleeding. i had it removed at the salon, had it 3 times and found it completely ruined my nails for months.

vinylux is fab. you just paint the colour and seal it in with a top coat.

Where can you buy Vinylux, Vicar?

I love the effect of shellac but not the months it takes for my nails to recover after its taken off and I don't have the time or finances to keep getting it renewed.

you can get it on amazon but my salon sells it - you just need the top coat and the colour - its about a tenner a bottle. The colour goes on (no need for a base coat) then the top coat (clear) makes it shiny and seals it in place.

ive had it done twice at the salon - lasts about as long as shellac does for me, but its bliss being able to take it off with normal polish remover!

It also doesn't have to be 'cured' under the lamp like Shellac does.

Ask your Shellac technician about it.

Shellac etc should be soaked off using the tinfoil tips method but first scrape to rough up with a rough buffer then soak pads in pure acetone, not nail varnish with acetone, and leave to soak until it goes soft and can be scraped off with an orange stick.

The beautician removes my Shellac... I love it!
