Pierrot poster - arty (often B&W) poster of the clown from Harlequin & Columbine. One delicate tear under an eye. I had one too /sigh. Those were the days.

am as old as SPs mum

Lj8893 · 17/08/2013 14:27

I don't know who John Taylor is?! But I don't fancy Harry styles or in fact any current boyband member!

SPsTotallyMullerFuckingLicious · 17/08/2013 14:27

A poster of a clown?! That would terrify me.

VixZenFenchell · 17/08/2013 14:31

Pierrot

Sparklingbrook · 17/08/2013 14:32

I remember this one.

I had a pierrot duvet set Grin

(and a Wham lunchbox )

Silverlace · 17/08/2013 14:55

Sparkling, I understand your pain. I used to work with a young slip of a girl who was horrified that I was born in the sixties (isn't that a Sting song?).

I saw DD at the NEC, got tickets 10 rows from the front as I was in the fan club and John Taylor SMILED at me!

Sparklingbrook · 17/08/2013 14:58

Ooh I got seats very close through the fan club too Silver forgot all about that. There were about 5 encores too. My dad had to sit in the car park waiting-no texting in those days.

OP posts:
Silverlace · 17/08/2013 15:04

I wonder if you dad was sitting in his car next to my dad as he was waiting there too.

I wore a blue felt trilby, frilly shirt and pixie boots. Hopefully trousers as well but can't remember what they were like.

Sparklingbrook · 17/08/2013 15:10

I had a grey shirt, and grey trousers, and a pair of pixie boots, and danced the whole way through. Smile

I may have to go in the loft and get my scrap books down. They have the tickets in. Grin

I was at the Wembley Arena concert 1983, JT spotted me in the crowd & fell in love with me, he kept looking straight in my eyes. I just know he searched for me after but my dad had picked me up. I suspect he helped James Blunt write "You're beautiful" a few (20?) years later hoping I 'd know it was about that moment and get in touch. I was married by then though & didn't want to hurt DH so had to leave JT to his regrets. Hope he's OK about it.

RonaldMcDonald · 17/08/2013 15:22

He's in family in the Guardian today

KatieScarlett2833 · 17/08/2013 15:27

Sheesh, sorry to disappoint but once he set eyes on my 14 year old gorgeousness at Murrayfield all thoughts of you southern ladies were forgotten.
My Phil Oakley asymmetric bob, twilight teaser Avon lippy and the fresh scent of Impulse Red was what drew him to me. And my impressive knowledge of his back catalogue, life and moody poses, I suppose.
Ordinary World was obviously about me as I expect he is still crying for yesterday (and by yesterday he means me, obvs.). But like I said earlier, once he took up with ADC I thought less of him for trading down, so he had to go.

Sparklingbrook · 17/08/2013 15:31

Oh yes thanks Ronald Smile

I'm going to have to dig out my Sing Blue Silver DVD (a lovely friend bought it for my birthday a couple of years ago to replace my long-worn-out VHS tape) and have a proper lustfest retrospective.

Sparklingbrook · 17/08/2013 15:47

Is that the American tour one Select?

Have we all just stalked Gela online? Or is it only me?

SPsTotallyMullerFuckingLicious · 17/08/2013 15:52

You lot are too old for me Grin

I'm off to find some proper boy and lovers!

KatieScarlett2833 · 17/08/2013 15:54

Sparklingbrook · 17/08/2013 15:55

No stalking as yet Diamond what am I missing?

RichManPoorManBeggarmanThief · 17/08/2013 15:58

I'm too old to read the whole thread as might die before i finish so not sure if anyone has pointed this out but John Taylor's real name is Nigel. That's how old he is. When he was young, John was a cool name that you changed your name to if you wanted to be a rock star.

KatieScarlett2833 · 17/08/2013 15:59

Oh dear..... Shock

Sparklingbrook · 17/08/2013 16:00

And not forgetting Nick Rhodes is actually Nick Bates but who wants to be Master Bates? Grin
