To think if I cancel a December Egypt holiday now they should refund my flights

We had all booked for Cairo this December but are getting concerned about the civil unrest there. Travel company say they will refund for the hotel but not the flight. Are they allowed to do this?

Personally I do not think it will calm down so we will get a refund and go somewhere else. The guy said unless there is a big improvement we will get the refund so now need to work out where to go. I quite fancy New Orleans but have been to the states a lot. Don't fancy Seychelles or Thailand as I do not like long plane flights. It is exciting really as it is now going to be a last minute thing. Wish my son was older as we could go to Disney World. :)

Well I've just spoken (on FB) to a family that are in Hurghada. The curfew has been lifted, although most people are choosing not to leave the complex, and the town seems as quiet as ever. So you never know, it could calm down by December.

If you really want to go to Egypt, maybe give Cairo a miss and stay in a Red Sea resort instead. I prefer Hurghada to Sharm, but have heard good things about the quieter areas too. But then I suppose you can't really go to Egypt and not see the Pyramids. Would be a bit of a waste

Things like this have been happening for ages now and the tourists spots are allways ok. My mum came back from cairo few months back and had a fab time. You should always read t&c of everything though so you know what you would be entitled to.
Hopefully things calm down everywhere soon, horrible what the people are going through.

Thats good news then at least you have the option of changing your holiday.
How old is your ds ? Disney world would be a much better alternative imo :)
