I simply tap my nails on my glass or mug and he refills it for me.

Or if my nails aren't up to the job I say 'ding ding'.

That's normal, right?

AIBU?

Are you Threesy or Eating from the other thread? Grin

Relaxedandhappyperson · 16/08/2013 13:28

What if he is on the loo?

Reality · 16/08/2013 13:29

If he's on the loo I'll wait for him to finish, and wash his hands, obvs.

Drinks taste nicer when they're made for you Wink

What's the other thread?

YABU

You need to get a bell to make sure he can hear you from other rooms too Grin

greenhill · 16/08/2013 13:30

If your nails aren't up to the job I suggest a trip to S&B for nail care advice Grin

LEMisdisappointed · 16/08/2013 13:31

I do this too - i will actually make him a cup of tea but don't bother to make my own as it wont taste right Hmm But i will get him to get drinks for me - and he does it! Confused Quite happy to make tea for myself when he's out though

Reality · 16/08/2013 13:31

I'm a nibbler, Greenhill. I grow them all lovely and long and then chew them down again. So sometimes they are long and tappable, and sometimes not.

Reality · 16/08/2013 13:32

Oh yes, I'll happily make his tea in return. He only has one mug in the morning though and I'm not often up when he has it and he brings me up a coffee.

YABU, you need to get him to do a manicure for you as well. Why should you have to do it yourself?

YouTheCat · 16/08/2013 15:18

My dp makes me a coffee and brings it up when he leaves for work at 6.30.

I heat it up in the microwave when I get up (a good few hours later). Grin

I do lots of things for him though.

ThreesyDoesIt · 16/08/2013 17:41

My dh does this he shakes his empty glass at me to be refilled. We reverse roles when the vodka is involved though Grin

Famzilla · 16/08/2013 17:52

YABU if you are in the house when he makes it.

DP makes me a cup and drives it to my workplace an hour away. I don't want to spend my short lunch hour preparing my own beverages!

He can make me one when he's picked me up from work though, once he's washed my hair and put my slippers on.

thebody · 16/08/2013 17:55

LTB if no biscuit.

MrsSparkles · 16/08/2013 17:58

My MIL will never pour herself a glass of wine, and I do mean never. She'll sit and sigh until someone else does! DH and I think FIL thinks this is very good because she can pack it away when offered

Crikey only just found this thread, shrugged if you're mentioning me in reference to another thread, does this mean I'm now famous? Grin

reality You need to get him to sort himself out, if he needs to be informed, either with nail tapping or a verbal prompt, that the glass/cup is empty he's already slacking Wink

CuttedUpPear · 17/08/2013 00:03

If this thread was on one of those lads web forums with the roles reversed it would be unacceptable.
In fact I think it's unacceptable as it is.

CoffeeandScones · 17/08/2013 00:06

Well, it's fine if he's happy with the arrangement. Largely that's how it works in our house. I'm happy with it (as the H) - if I wasn't I'd say something about it.

AllEyeEatIsCake · 17/08/2013 22:29

Oh teach me! How do I get the drinks service from my DH? Is the first step growing my nails or buying a bell???

purplewithred · 17/08/2013 22:35

You can get a handbell app for your iPhone. V useful.

50BalesOfHay · 17/08/2013 22:42

I take it I've missed the joke?

magicalpony41 · 19/08/2013 17:57

I know someone who, if she is hungry, will shout at you until you give her something to eat. If she's not happy with what you've given her, she'll just give you a look and walk off.

If the door is closed, she'll demand that someone open it for her.

If you sit on a seat she wants to sit on, she'll glare at you until you move.

That person is my cat Grin definitely the most entitled 'person' I know!

magicalpony41 · 19/08/2013 18:07

ooops wrong thread...

Reality · 19/08/2013 18:08

Cats have the right idea.
