DH is annoying me by being 'ill'

He's had three wisdom teeth out under sedation yesterday.

He went off to work today, despite my suggestion that he take the day off to help me corall the horrible brats.

HE REFUSED.

However, he then came home and claimed he felt ' a bit crap' so has absented himself from any use. He did bath DS2 and clear the kitchen after tea, but other than that he's just lain on the sofa holding his jaw.

He went to bed before Smash started, citing a lack of interest, and a need for the good drugs.

I'm bored now.

AIBU to think he should man the fuck up and entertain me while I watch the telly recorded from last night, instead of wussing off up to bed?

Pain schmain.

AIBU?

You know you are :-)

grants1000 · 15/08/2013 23:18

You big meanie, having wisdom teeth out sucks big time.

MrsTerryPratchett · 15/08/2013 23:19

I'm with you Reality. DH has a 'bad back' at the moment which prevents him from doing bedtime for some unknown reason. DD can walk, there's no lifting. It also seems to render him incapable of doing washing up but not the rubbish, oddly.

I trump you because he obtained the bad back working out, which I would like to do but never get the time.

phantomnamechanger · 15/08/2013 23:21

I think you are being harsh - he went to work, came home feeling crap, but still bathed a child and cleared the kitchen - then flopped. He's hardly a lazy sod!

Mendi · 15/08/2013 23:22

I had all 4 wisdom teeth out under general anaesthetic over 15 years ago and to this day it is the most painful thing that has ever happened to me, including childbirth. I was in agony for days afterwards. So yes, YABVVU. Your DH massively manned up by going to work!

Reality · 15/08/2013 23:22

Uuurgh at Bad Back from Exercise.

More fool him, the lazy baggage.

I have a Bad Attitude. Really I think that should trump it all and absent me from all the work.

Me too. Harrumph. I'll write you a note if you write me one.

Reality · 15/08/2013 23:23

I had three out under a general. A GENERAL. That got me three weeks off hard duty and still gives me gip now.

PFAH at his sedation. The rotter.

It's a DEAL MrsTP.

Although I have a slighlty achy wrist from drying dishes earier so will take a rain check on note writing if that's ok.

I'm impressed that he went to work, bathed your ds and cleared the kitchen.

I had 4 wisdom teeth out in hospital with GA. I was off work for a week and it was longer than that before I could open my mouth wide enough to eat properly.

SquinkiesRule · 16/08/2013 02:12

I had all four out under local, and was off two weeks, I was in bed for two days along with those good meds, and didn't eat hardly anything for a week. Just cups of tea and dippy biscuits. Poor sod he must feel bloody awful, let him sleep it off.

SquinkiesRule · 16/08/2013 02:13

Oh forgot to add, I also looked like a hamster with his cheeks filled for ages.

NumTumDeDum · 16/08/2013 02:30

I had two out under local. I never even realised general was an option! In fact I had so little idea how much pain was involved I booked the appointment for 8.30 am so I could go to work afterwards. I managed all of 20 minutes before I was literaly sobbing in pain and had to go home. Where I stayed, for a week. I was in agony. If the other two need to come out they will have to put me out for a week. So yes, YABU!!

Chottie · 16/08/2013 02:40

OP - your DH has had 3, yes 3 wisdom teeth out.

Please cut him some slack, take the DC off to the park and let DH have a little peace and quiet in which to recover.

MooseBeTimeForSpring · 16/08/2013 02:57

I had a sideways growing wisdom tooth out under GA. The painkillers the surgeon prescribed me could have tranquilised a horse and I felt sick after taking them.

Aside from feeling like my insides were about to drop out, I felt much better after my C section.

FlatCapAndAWhippet · 16/08/2013 03:09

I had one out under sedation, oooooft it flippin hurts!

CakesAreNotTheAnswer · 16/08/2013 06:02

hang on a minute. important stuff first. Smash? Is that the new series?

Reality · 16/08/2013 07:38

Yes, new series, it's been on about five weeks. It is good.

He's gone off to work again today clutching his painkillers, but refusing to have a day off.

I'm a bit in awe. I've never felt as awful as I did after having mine out. It was worse than childbirth.

He is hard as nails, your DH. Just start calling him "Nails" from now on.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 16/08/2013 07:47

My DH would go to work even if he had had his head cut off.

Might freak them out a bit though

Whoknowswhocares · 16/08/2013 09:50

You're all wimps. Grin
I had 2 out under general anaesthetic . Was eating toast for breakfast next morning.
Pain killers returned to doctor untouched at follow up consult.
Bit woozy on day 1 to go to work due to GA, but back following day.
If he is anything like I was, he's milking it!!!

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 16/08/2013 09:51

It does totally vary from person to person. .some do have pain and others none.

I'm sure you are Mrs Super Hard though Grin
