to want the nursery to change dd's nappy frequently?

DD is 13 months and is about to finish her second week of nursery. I've been building up her hours really gradually and this week she has started to settle in nicely - no crying when I leave her, going for a nap, eating her lunch etc.
Today she was in from 11am - 4pm. She had an immunisation app at 10.30am. When I picked her up she was playing happily. When we got home I realised that her nappy seemed bulky. I was so shocked and disappointed to find that she was in the same nappy that I'd sent her in wearing!
It wasn't dirty, just wet. I know it was def the same nappy because the nappies that I handed in to the nursery for her use are Pampers, but at home I'm using unusual supermarket pull-ups. She's been in for shorter days and come home in a different nappy. She is my pfb - am I being over the top? Should I mention it? I do not want to piss them off. Maybe they'd checked and it was dry then? WWYD?

I can understand checking every couple of hours and changing if need be, but to change every 2/3 hours is crazy! There's no way a baby is even half-filling a nappy over the course of a couple hours

I think maja might have hit the nail on the head. I want to believe it was an oversight, because they're so thorough in other ways. Twice I've picked her up and she's been completely redressed in her emergency change clothes. When I've come home and examined the original "soiled" outfit, it has had like a smudge on it!
No written daily record - the manager told me when I was viewing the place that she had just done away with it. She said that the nursery nurses were spending so much time doing paperwork, they didn't have time to play with the kids. I thought that made sense. They have a dry-wipe board where they tick boxes and fill in info about naps, food eaten, changes etc. I haven't paid much attention to it. The girl handing her over always gives me a little report on her day.

DS's outstanding nursery did the same - dry wipe board and verbal handover. I have noticed really good nurseries often do minimal paperwork.

See, Fanny this is why I'm afraid I'm being PFB. Everyone knows that you can put your hand on a modern, high-tech disposable which has been thoroughly weed in and it doesn't even feel damp. They are amazing!
I want to say something but I'm afraid of coming over like a teacher giving a kid into trouble. The fact is I am a teacher and according to certain people I can come across rather "teacherly".

But unless she was red raw or upset there isn't really any need to say anything. If it happens again you could ask them what triggers a nappy change (in a lovely non-teacherl? manner of courseGrin)

Actually when I went to pick dd up today there was an aroma wafting around that should have been "triggering" at least one nappy change! But it wasn't coming from my little angel her poo smells like violets.

How wet was the nappy? Was it leaking? I don't change DS's nappies until it gets really bulky and when i pinch it I can feel the wet crystals. Some days he may wear a nappy for 4-5 hours in the day. His bottom is fine.

I'd wait and see another day or two. It might have been a one off. Only say something if you see a regular pattern emerging.

It does seem Pointless to change nappies every 2/3hrs if dry - waste of money - many cm and nurseries do - is it an ofsted requirement?

Thinking about it last week ( I'm a nanny) I got my dc dressed after breakie and changed nappy about 8am and then didn't change nappy till after lunch and sleep 1ish

Wasn't soaked. Dc had lots to drink and had spent am happily playing on the park
