Portable potty's in the toilet?

Episode · 15/08/2013 17:45

Took my DS to the theatre today and saw a lady place the potty down for her 3/4 year old DD in the middle of the toilet, whilst she used the toilet herself...

Who does this?

I understand long days outside and special need's/phobias involved, but her daughter was asking to use the normal toilet.

I then saw her again on leaving the theatre placing the potty down by the exit for her daughter to use again???? Confused

If I am extremely ignorant please enlighten me as to the reasons? I'm genuinely interested!

No enlightenment here, sounds barking, but no doubt there will be some...'well, how do you know she wasn't..... along in a mo!

If the daughter was asking to use the toilet, then it's off to not let her.

Any chance she needed the urine?

Ridiculous

Three children here and, though the portapotty is mostly for the potty-trainng 2 year-old, there certainly have been times when two children needed the toilet simultaneously and one has been on the toilet, one on the potty (the portapotty if we're out). Just saying ........

TwoAndTwoEqualsChaos There was only one!

kinkyfuckery Crazy but your suggestion holds more logic than anything I can think of Wink

Maybe she is a bit of a germ phobe and doesn't like the child holding on to the sides of the toilet seat in a public loo or possibly touching the sanitary bin.

She could still be at the potty training stage? Our 3.7yr old DS uses the porta-potty when we are out sometimes (either stand alone or as a seat on the adults toilet) as he is still using potty at home and not the toilet quite yet.

I didn?t actually know there was a big difference between the potty and toilet.... I only had a potty as it was easy to conveniently locate it in the first weeks. Both mine always used the toilet and I taught them to stand and go (both boys) as soon as I was sure they'd make it in time to the correct room!

My judgement thinks she is setting herself up for additional unnecessary problems especially as her DD looked to be approaching reception age...

Well, it looks like you have answered your own question on this one!

ladypop · 15/08/2013 21:51

....although v strange if the daughter was actually asking to use the toilet, why would you not let her!?
