Two quotes both £900, shocked at amount they want. It was free before new year but not now.

have you checked though your gas/electricity provider

The cavity wall installers at my dh's work have 80% been made redundant because the government funding is coming to an end. They only have 2 teams left.

It's the replacement boilers now.

I was going to say it may not be a good idea - but the link above provides all the information. We did have it done, for free, as we live in a deprived ward, and now it is going to cost thousands to rectify - removing bricks to get the insulation out, chipping out and replacing all the damp plaster in a corner of the living room, redecorating etc - not to mention all the things in the previously dry cellar below that have had to be chucked because they are mouldy and damp.

Yes the first quote was through my energy provider and then I got another one today. My last house cost £100 because it was subsidised.

I didn't think of the downside of it either, am going to read thoroughly now. Thanks.
