To think that playing the didgeridoo at 8.30am is a bit much?

Neighbours have a didgeridoo and it's being played right now...sounds like it's in their sitting room but the french windows are open.

It's being played quite well but still....AIBU to think this is a bit much?

YABU I'm afraid. 6.30 unreasonable, 8.30 on a weekday, reasonable.

Footface · 15/08/2013 08:50

Yanbu, really they should haveote consideration for others

mollycuddles · 15/08/2013 08:50

Even played well (DH plays the didge) it is an unadulterated racket

There is no good time for playing the didge unless its a time when you're not there

YANBU

There are worse instruments they could be playing.

Imagine if it was a vuvuzela? Grin

MissMuesli · 15/08/2013 10:54

I think any time after 9.30 would be more reasonable. Not that I'm against general "family" noise a tht time but plying an instrument that early does seen abit inconsiderate. If they are generally good/nice neighbours I'd begrudgingly let it go!

RoxyFox211 · 15/08/2013 11:04

yanbu. Big difference between listening to a complete tune and listening to someone "pratice" their instruments. Currently being driven mad by dp and his new distortion pedal, all day everyday no matter what chaos is ensuing around it.

vladthedisorganised · 15/08/2013 11:45

Can I borrow your neighbour to play near my neighbour's karaoke machine, pretty please? Grin

5Foot5 · 15/08/2013 13:26

Big difference between listening to a complete tune and listening to someone "pratice" their instruments.

But there might be a lot of "practice" necessary before you get the complete tune. Would you stop everyone from learning an instrument that wasn't on an approved list of acceptable ones?

I don't think 8.30am on a week day is too early so sorry YABU

TiggyD · 15/08/2013 16:33

I think it's suposed to be played at sunrise, early in the morning...

MariaLuna · 15/08/2013 16:45

You could always close your eyes and imagine sunrise in Australia Grin

My neighbour practises her awful singing at around dinner time....

Fakebook · 15/08/2013 16:52

As long as they're not doing Rolf Harris impersonations alongside I wouldn't mind. It's 8.30am not 5.30.

MrsWeasley · 15/08/2013 16:56

I think anyone who can make a decent sound out of one deserves congratulations.

MrsTerryPratchett · 15/08/2013 16:57

I used to get Bryan Adams at 3am. I have no sympathy.

Echocave · 15/08/2013 17:04

Agree that 8.30 on a week day is probably ok especially as dd begins noisy 'singing' far earlier than that.
Mind you we have a trumpeter down our road who is terrible. I suppose they need the practice though...,

MariaLuna · 15/08/2013 18:23

Friend of DS's son's dad is a professional saxophonist.

Love passing by the house and hearing it wafting out during practice. Brings me right back to another age....Smile
