School started on tuesday. Tuesdays polo shirt was tumble dried and shrunk vertically by 2 inches. Thought it must be me as my tumble drier is quite hot. Dried yesterdays on the rack and it has shrunk by about 1 1/2 inches.

Great. They both look crap now. I have others obviously but they are all adsa so will all be the same. Are tesco any good? Am kind of limited to shops here.

horsey that always happens, the site is primed to "listen" for words...key words...and adjust the ads accordingly. they're very clever these computer folk aren't they!

Well have now ironed them and they have stretched back a bit. Will live with them I think and try one of the others next year!

To wash decently you need a polycotton polo shirt. DH has dozens of different corporate polo shirts from his work as well as the kids ones - pure cotton are normally awful unless expensive or very carefully washed.

I know a minority of children are sensitive to synthetics (hope they never get a job with a uniform) but we buy ones like these now.

I swear by Next polo shirts. I've just recycled some that DD wore 4 years ago before being passed down to DS. There was nothing wrong with them apart from he'd outgrown them!

I was quite pleased with the ASDA ones. They were exactly the same in quality as the M&S ones. The other cotton girly type M&S ones I got shrunk and discoloured the worse in the tumble drier.

Can I also use this thread to share how impressed I am with the M&S pinafore dresses? I got dd two last year and they were sometimes washed and tumble dried twice a week and they still look brand new.

(There's also a 20% sale on in Debenhams on school wear atm, and I got dd a 100% cotton cardigan for £6.40 online last night).
