I have with ours but that doesnt mean yours will be ok

SuperiorCat · 14/08/2013 19:59

of course YANBU

WidowWadman · 14/08/2013 20:07

Are they brilliant? I am tempted to buy one but they are expensive. Will do if they are great though.

WidowWadman · 14/08/2013 20:10

They're worth every penny. My daughters have very fine curly hair and don't mind being brushed with it at all unlike other brushes

Do you want nit eggs whooshing round your wine glasses? I wouldn't!

olivo · 14/08/2013 20:23

Our local body store (?) sells a cheap version that is just as good as our original proper one.

member · 14/08/2013 20:26

The water gets stuck inside the brush & you can hear it swishing infuriatingly when you shake the brush but can't get it out.

WidowWadman · 14/08/2013 20:55

So not a good idea. How do I de-nit it then? Or will I have to throw?

Tangle Teasers are the best thing ever. Well for hair tangles at least. I have awful hair and the tangle teaser sorts it with minimal pain.

I'm not sure about dishwashing it though. Could you get hold of some of that pesticidal stuff from hairdressers or something similar to spray on it?

Jude89 · 14/08/2013 21:30

can't you bag it up and not use it for a while
or spray it with detol
or freeze it
or pour boiling water on it
or all of the above?

hugoagogo · 14/08/2013 21:36

Just wash it with shampoo- headlice can't live on hard plastic- you nit! Grin

PearlyWhites · 14/08/2013 21:37

Just soak in vinegar overnight

BreakOutTheKaraoke · 14/08/2013 21:38

Just pull all the hair out, flush it down the loo and give it a rinse under the tap. It'll be fine!

It was on HUKD earlier about a £1 shop version that's almost the same, worth checking out if you're after one. I, personally, thought it was crap, and a waste of £13. Didn't go througn DD's super thick hair. Not too bad on mine now, but as I've got a pixie crop, that's not hard.

afromom · 14/08/2013 21:38

Oh DMum has just bought one of these for DS today! It's amazing, he actually sat for the first time in 9 years and me me brush through his hair, without a single scream or I hate you! Finally the neighbours may believe that I do not enjoy torturing my child daily and I will no longer have to shut the windows when I brush his hair ??

Maybe soak it in some Milton steriliser? You could stand it bristles down in the Milton, so it doesn't get in the bit you hold?

50shadesofmeh · 14/08/2013 22:01

I just poured a boiled kettle over mine

Szeli · 14/08/2013 22:07

I soak it in isopropynol alcohol and rinse with boiling water then spritz with tea tree

olivo · 15/08/2013 07:42

Honestly, the one pound one is just as good - my two use it more than the proper one Angry
