I am stuck in car in tescos car park.. because kids are zonked. They've not slept all day and are so tired its hideous. So im stuck.

All I friggin want is some mik.

and a wee. Im sooooo desperately in need of a wee.

Just watched man tie up his dog and stroll in.

I am jealous that he can just leave his dog outside unjudged, meanwhile these two are dead to the world and I dare not leave them. I might actually have to drive home!

he will be judged, it is not the done thing any more to tie dogs outside shops. He just won't get arrested for it unless the dog bites a random who tries to talk to it

MrsMongoose · 13/08/2013 16:06

Are they small enough to lift, force into a trolley and push around? Been guilty of that myself!

Not sure where this came from? Dogs are always left outside shops etc & no one is bothered. I do it with mine, only when I'm whipping in, not for the weekly shop obviously.

I leave him outside precisely because I know he'll be good & not make a nuisance out of himself - don't know if the same can be said about kids....

peppapigsmummy · 13/08/2013 16:19

Unfortunately not mrsmongoose ..and its really not worth waking them. Oh the misery (dramatic hand on forehead look here)

id rather pee myself.

Yes. And if you can afford a holiday, you can't send kids to boarding kennels. Sad.

Pootles2010 · 13/08/2013 16:21

Open the front and back doors, crouch down, do a wee, have a nap yourself.

Pootles2010 · 13/08/2013 16:21

Obviously get back in car before nap.

peppapigsmummy · 13/08/2013 17:20

Lol Pootles.

I have returned home milkless in desperation.

If only there was a magic way to lift them out of the seat and have them float behind me magically while they sleep.

I think if it were just the one id have woken them up but twins. no chance.

Is there not a little corner shop you could have stopped at, locked the car and ran in? I do this as I can see the car at all times and I have 4 DC.

LynetteScavo · 13/08/2013 17:31

sweetkitty - how could you do such a thing? Has MN not taught you your car may spontaneously combust if you are not in it, or child may wake up and override the child lock and jump in front of a moving car before your very eyes?

OP. sympathise. I have been there with three children of three different sizes. The day will come when your DC don't fall asleep in the car. I promise.

sweet kitty. I did that once at a highstreet costa. I needed coffee so bad. I parked directly outside the glass fronted cafe. early morning. .clear line of sight. ..when a lady stopped by my car and started yelling about unsupervised children. I rushed out..and was completely humiliated by woman who declared me a bad mother. never. ever. again.

I don't leave my dog tied up outside shops because a.) he'd cry for me and b.) he looks like a teddy bear and I'd worry he'd get stolen.

pierpressure · 13/08/2013 18:41

Mine looks like a Teddy bear too, and would probably go off with anyone who made a fuss of him.I cant ever take him to shops, he would whine outside too.

SPsTotallyMullerFuckingLicious · 13/08/2013 18:42

I sometimes feel like tying my toddler up outside the shop. Apparently its frowned upon or something.

HHH3 · 13/08/2013 18:57

I remember me and my sister being left to sit just inside the doors at sainsburys every week while my mum did the weekly shop. Wish I could do that with my kidsGrin

sweetkitty · 13/08/2013 19:09

Oh and I leave them in the car whilst I pay for petrol Blush

Nowadays I tell 9 year old DD1 she's in charge Wink

wineoclocktimeyet · 13/08/2013 19:16

Couple of years ago, there was a baby asleep in carseat in a car in the children's parking spaces outside our local Tesco. All the car windows were open and also in the car was a VERY large dog who growled menacingly when anyone walked past.

I was waiting in our car nearby for at least 10 minutes whilst DH ran in and no parent appeared!

WorraLiberty · 13/08/2013 19:19

Find the nearest tired, stressed and knackered out Mother who has 3 or 4 kids in tow.

Ask her to stand and guard the car for 10 minutes

There'll be zero chance of her wanting to run off with your children

Though you do run the risk of finding that she's dumped hers on you and buggered off Grin

peppapigsmummy · 13/08/2013 19:26

haha Worrall it was seriously a thought. I did once ask an old man to watch my locked car at petrol station. I figured he was too slow (walking stick) to break in and steal them..plus..what elderly person would still a few toddlers !

maybe I should find a teddy bear lookalike dog and tie it up to my car. I should be back before they've gotten around to stealing the kids right ? (id definitely take a cute dog over a snotty kid any day!)
