To sell clothes/toys instead of passing on to my nephew?

I'm really torn about this, my nephew is about 16 months younger than my DS (nephew is an only child, DS my fourth if that matters).

Obviously there's a lot of clothes and toys DS has grown out of that I have passed to my brother and SIL for my nephew, the thing is I have never had one thanks for any of it.

Now I'm not looking for a big gushing OTT thank you or wine and flowers but I think a simple text saying thank you for X would be nice.

At the start of the Summer I gave them a nearly new smart trike and a huge bag of clothes, not things like vests or anything stained but the best quality stuff, winter jackets etc. not a word of acknowledgement they got them. Now if they not like second hand or it's not to their taste fine, charity shop them but say thanks.

I now have a lot of toys DS has grown out of, would it be wrong to sell them on eBay and put towards Christmas instead of giving then to my nephew? My brother and SIL both work FT so it's not like they are scrimping by.

Sell.

Save it up and do a car boot. Childrens toys/clothes are always popular. And the kids really enjoy helping, it's like playing shop with real customers/money. Best of all you will come away with some money at the end of it, it can be surprising how much it adds up to.

Sell the bigger stuff and give the smaller clothes etc to Women's Aid as suggested above.
Your 'D'B & SIL sound really grasping, and as you know that they can afford to clothe their child, let them; your DC will benefit from the money that you make (and as they get older, from the example that you set of giving to charity).

With the trike I gave it to my Dad to pass onto him, my Dad lives an hour away same place as my brother. I had said to my brother he could have it and he said great.

With the toys SIL even commented on my nephew liking a dancing Tigger thing so he did get them.

Don't know about the clothes, I gave them to my brother and said "see of you want any of them if not just give them to the charity shop" he said " great" but no thanks Hmm

Think it's just them, I always send my brother 2 cards, one from me, one from the DC and stick a tenner in for him to have a birthday drink on me. Don't think I've ever had a thanks or a card back on my birthday.

I don't really need to sell the things but every bit helps towards Christmas doesn't it?

Sell them.

Well my minds made up I'm selling what I can.

SIL has just been on FB bragging about buying half of ELC and loads of tiny trainers so I don't think she needs hand outs from me Hmm
